Federal Judge Vacates Kennedy Declaration, Permanently Blocks Trump's Trans Youth Care Hospital Threats The judgment overturns the Kennedy Declaration which has been used to force 40 hospitals to drop trans youth care.

1. This weekend, a federal judge permanently blocked funding threats to providers and hospitals that provide trans youth care.

The judge also blocked "any similar policy."

Hospitals have NO excuse and must return to providing care under many blue state laws.

I like to hope/think that the HP stuff doesn't get any of my subscription fees if I've marked it all as 👎. That'll change if Thiel ends up buying HBO, though.

(same goes for the Neil Gaiman stuff on Netflix, or anything else associated with bigots and sex pests)

We're stuck with Netflix because my parents are on that $8/month sub-account and I don't want to inconvenience them with switching to their own account. I swap around with AppleTV, HBO, etc. based on what's there. But honestly mostly just watch @dropout.tv and youtube (@taskmaster.tv) these days.

Limited series have a beginning and an end. The things I'm complaining about are when Netflix (or whatever) cancels a series before the story is wrapped up (e.g. Cowboy Bebop, Kaos, etc), or like with Revel Moon where they make movies but don't promise to finish the story.

They keep raising prices because people hop between services because services keep raising prices because … ♻️ 🫠

Meanwhile, Netflix has fewer and fewer things I want to watch, especially because and they keep cancelling shows so why bother starting to watch something if there won't be a 2nd season?

Darn … I was really hoping this was going to stop at "Democratic House Rep. Hakeem Jeffries is getting fired" … House Dems need to replace him with someone competent ASAP.

Why not just post the actual text here instead of screenshotting from some other site and not even providing alt text.

Also … you really need copy editor.

How many animals? I have a worm bin in my garage … does anyone how many worms and isopods fit in a 30 gallon scrap bin? I think I'll just guess 5000.

The quantum dot stuff really is fantastic (especially if you light it up with a UV Beast light). It only takes a couple layers for bright fluorescence, and it's clear enough to show color/texture from another filament (or fabric, in Daniel's case) below.

It’s been almost 40 years and I still remember his name: Profesor Dávila would whack you in the butt/legs with a cane, or make co-conspirators pull up on each others sideburn hair (or the closest elementary school kids had) for about 30s.

I see that. I'll have to keep it in mind for whenever I upgrade/replace my Nukit stuff. I've been intrigued by the upcoming one with replaceable bulbs/batteries (assuming it ever gets sold in the US) but I suspect I'll be looking for something brighter/directional.

The Sterilray getting cumbersome?

I repurposed a couple photo light clamp-mounts for my Nukit ones, but I rarely go anywhere that a couple of those small lamps isn't enough coverage. The Aerolamp looks like a nice upgrade.

Good for fish, too. Even grocery store fishmongers will debone things for you for free if you ask.

My suburban city has some pretty strict tree law (unless it's unhealthy, illegal to cut anything over 18" diameter at the base without a special permit that no one knows how to get; removing any tree must be replaced by 2 new ones) but it's constantly ignored even by the city. Really annoying.

I've assumed it started because of so many of us of Scandinavian heritage, but the younger generations from about the 1990s onward have definitely been pushing things toward more outwardly friendly. I like to blame (complimentary) all of the immigrants but it's probably just a post-Gen-X thing.

a man is running down a sidewalk wearing shorts and a sweater that says gm Alt: Bill Nye as the character Speed Walker from Almost Live. He is speed walking down a street in seattle wearing shorts, a cape, and a light blue long sleeve shirt with the Speed Walker emblem.

I'm pretty sure he killed Speed Walker. Or maybe the science gig just pays better than fighting criminals in Seattle.

You don't even have to go that far. Anyone technical enough to build a 3d printed gun would certainly have the skills to build a Voron from scratch.

Strictest 3D Printing Regulation YET!
Strictest 3D Printing Regulation YET! YouTube video by 3D Printing Nerd

Glad to see that @davidtobin.bsky.social and @joeltelling.bsky.social continue to bring attention to this.

These bills are based on a fundamental misunderstanding of how 3D printers work. They won’t solve the ghost gun issue, waste time/money, & are impossible to implement.

Joke's on the tornado. Thanks to last year's flooding, it's 2 weeks early.

(Seriously, the filing deadline was extended until May 1 for much of WA.)

Yeah … no favorite dino species for me. Do dino astronauts count?

Isopods win for my favorite ancient animals. I may someday even get some of the fancy ones as pets (for now, the thousands in my worm bin will suffice).

Odd. I swear Ellie used to have a regular account here for cocoapress. You can find her here as `@ ellierose . me` (we're mutuals so I don't want to snitch tag her). Also the other project from the same team: @print-kits.bsky.social

Should be some big stuff this year from their new CEO, too.

...same feel...

Wow, those are fantastic. Yeah, it definitely won't have the seem feel as whatever you end up replacing it with.

Yeah, beams are special, especially the really long/thick ones. Panels and boards thicker than 3/4in should also be treated special since they can be used for more than just decorative stuff.

It's a pity you're so far away (and in another country). I have a few contacts around here.

Yeah, pricing is the hard part. Most of the stuff I've seen for sale around here over the last few years was incredibly overpriced, or the wood was just junk.

Then again, the markup on those live/laugh signs might be worth it to some folks. Not so much for practical things like a table.

5 days ago 1 0 1 0

Just don't let the wood go to waste. All of that pretty barn wood could be destined for hundreds of rustic "live, laugh, love" decorations! 🤣

But seriously … woodworkers love the stuff.

My wife is "that kind" of editor. In her case, it's "just" children's books (not that "short" means "less work") and for a couple close friends from her writing group. The truth is, pretty much no one wants to pay for that level of editing, anyway. When she's paid, she's definitely underpaid.

I just checked mine and there's a 34° low predicted for tomorrow. I guess I should go pull my lemongrass back inside (everything else is all still too small and happy inside under grow lights).

Ah, not from-scratch stuff. Cool.

Then, I'd go with "they're not cookies, so they don't exist, therefore they have zero calories."

6 days ago 1 0 1 0

Besides the salmonella and e. coli risk from raw flour, and salmonella and bird flu from undercooked eggs?

As other have said, pretty much just whatever size you'd normally dish up your cookies as.
