I thought representatives were supposed to represent the values of their constituents.
Personally my values are not represented by someone who voted for the Lakin Riley act, and I don't think this is true for most of the district either.

Stephen Lynch is barely known even in his district, let alone outside of it. His impact on the overall image of the democratic party is nothing.

This is truly one of the most remarkable advances in cancer therapy in history: metastatic pancreatic cancer was a short-term death sentence and this new approach put many of them into long term remission. This is why we invest in science, and why RFKs effort to kill this work is misguided 🧪
It's from 2018. Not that that makes it better.

Are they "wealth gap" to mean "insufficient pandering to billionaires"?
This looks interesting! @rmtzgarcia.bsky.social
I'm looking forward to reading this!
Thrilled to have been able to review 'The Paradox of the Organism: Adaptation and Internal Conflict', a volume edited by @arvidagren.bsky.social & Manus Patten.
"...the reality that complex organisms function at all feels like pure magic, with the powers of molecular evolution behind the curtain."
Massachusetts passed laws and joined lawsuits to protect access to gender-affirming care for minors. But faced with the Trump administration's threats, some hospitals voluntarily stopped care. n.pr/4tgo2YS
I once had a deposition about a gas explosion. The fire inspector testified the gas had collected in a void under the concrete.
Opposing counsel asked “What did the void consist of?”

The Trump Department of Education wrote a dangerous new regulation that would strip Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) from people based on their "political ideology."
It's a completely naked fascist attempt.
But Senate Dems can stop him—it just requires a few more votes.
It's not like these explanations are mutually exclusive. People in power can be unbothered by abuse, and also conspire to hide it. This is, in fact, how it usually happens.
I feel attacked
I’m looking for an automated way to read others’s scientific data without giving credit or acknowledgement, and also claim full credit for insights from it. And I want it to have a fitting name

"Viewpoint diversity" always seems to mean "more conservatives and libertarians." No one ever hires Marxists in economics departments for "viewpoint diversity." www.thecrimson.com/article/2026...
If you instead defined sex in terms of reproductive morphology and/or behavior, you would absolutely get species with three or more sexes, and we'd have to switch sex labels for some species.
It worked out great in my case. I switched thesis topics at year 4, meaning that I got to work on stuff I'm excited about, and that led to a postdoc and then faculty job.
I can't promise it will work that way for everyone, but it helps to be doing stuff you're excited to work on!
The thing about gamete sizes is literally just a definition. In species that have gametes of different sizes, biologists defined the larger ones to be female and the smaller to be male. That's it.
Literally a proof by definition
That's what I did
My account will no longer provide posts, it is now an AI INFRASTRUCTURE COMPANY—looking for a billion dollars to realize my new goals
It must have been something specific though!
Really excited for a future where we wear, eat, and sleep in neural nets
