don’t follow her too-too closely. I do think her pulling the plug in Athens, GA publicly marked a turning of the tide in national politics. Weirdly. I think “tearing the country apart” has been the defining characteristic of US politics (both sides) since the 2000 election when idea of Red & Blue states was invented. Every candidate promises to govern on behalf of the 51% and against the other 49%. It’s a pox on the nation.
In most of the elections I vote in, in most races, the candidate runs unopposed. I understand why but I think this is disfunctional. The last opponent to seriously challenge Michael Guest was a raving lunatic who got arrested as such, soon thereafter. I stood behind him, waiting to vote, as he electioneered in the polling place before the poll-worker finally ran him off. It was with great enthusiasm I voted for Michael Guest that time. I think you have a chance of winning and I think that has a chance of being a good thing. Though pretty much anybody who’s not in Trump’s pocket, not Lindsey Graham level blood-thirsty for WWIII, not in Epstein’s files, and not on AIPAC’s gravy train—I’m voting for.
As for Erika’s Red Wall? My uncle flew the Berlin airlift, as the Berlin Wall was being built, while my father was held over in Korea. When I graduated high school, The Wall topped the music charts, we all expected the “balloon to go up” before we exceeded draft age. And I was a soldier during the ass-end of the Cold War. For people my age, who vote every time, or at least for me, the words “Fortify the Red Wall” is a red flag waved at a bull, words that would seem to demand a response. That’s not a fart in church, best ignored. That’s lighting a flag on fire and throwing it into a crowded theater.
Not to be critical and God knows I couldn’t do what you’re doing, but I would like to see you engage a bit more at the national level, in line with the position you seek. I know you’ve got to press the flesh and kiss the babies in-state. But
 for Tip O’Neil

Hey @michaelachiaradio.bsky.social, Erika Kirk says you threaten The Red Wall.
Perhaps you would care to respond.
As a child of the Cold War and a soldier of the same, I have thoughts.
But you're younger than me.
Yours may be different.

“To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.”
I know this is from one of the Apocryphal texts, but just can't remember which one.

Sexual misconduct is keeping your socks on.
The answer to sexual crime is punishment, vigorous punishment, a working system of justice.
What you describe is sexual discrimination: a thing we devoted decades of social turmoil to getting rid of.

Sorry to have missed you but, not so sorry as to go. One man’s opinion. But, the division is not between Left and Right, Republican & Democrat. It’s between Crooks and not Crooks. My sense is that Delbert is straight as a f*cking arrow & I hope you 2 are on the same team.

Seems Musk & Altman are in court over chicanery of the sort endemic to 501(c)3. If Godzilla beats Kong, there’s concern that that whole sweet deal (racket) could unravel. Good. Not easy to get me to root for a kaiju. But, not impossible, it turns out.

A pharoah’s pyramid took many years to build. Construction would need to start when he was quite young. As soon as that triumphal arch is finished, it’s not too early to get started.

Druid City Arts Fest is always a fun time. But I may skip the next tear, we'll see. I've had diminishing returns, and with the prices of everything I don't see people having a lot of spending money anytime soon. Plus it might be nice to go as a regular person. But we'll see how it goes.

Not like there's a shortage of languages being coined, now that movie producers have a linguist budget. What? Are the Dothraki jealous? The consonants are fine. And it seems silly to shout at the dead.

I don't understand what would motivate someone to heckle eo. Most heckling I can see the motivation. This, I do not.

Certainly was not getting behind "eo is awful ... (whatever comes after that)" & don't really get the motivation behind such a sentence.

Oh. And not "no meaning". Didn't mean that. Just that I don't find it compelling and sufficient.
The conservative instinct, that Old implies Good, I find meaningful, but limited.

Many would suggest the electoral college. Twelve inches to the foot might be another. Some say the QWERTY keyboard layout.
How about the other part? Elegance. No purely organic language developed by evolutionary means could have produced the table-words. I also developed a great fondness for "ĉu".
