The vertical rows are together. Now for the borders which I’m still designing, might be a bit detailed or plain. Haven’t decided yet.
Size as is: 55” x 73”

And I lost this bobbin chicken. Sometimes it happens.

Worked in getting a few vertical rows together. It’s a little challenging, had a few of the same color next to each other. It’s why laying out the blocks is a good idea. I really like the movement in the fabric.

The individual blocks are together. Now to create the rows. The rows are created vertically, there will be 13 rows, the even rows will start with a small square.
This should be fun. (Maybe)
It’s always an adventure.

One of the blocks was a small star. The pattern called for 72 of them. Finished size of the block was 5.5x5.5 and there was a second version that sized at 5.5x6.5.
For me that was way too small and too many pieces.
Working on a new quilt with yardage and FQ from my stash. I started with a pattern but after seeing one of the block sets would require 722 pieces I gave it a big no and came up with my own idea.
Last pic shows some of the finished block sets.
The adventure continues!

These are fun and fast to make. You can use leftover strips or coordinate them, like this one.
Size: 8” wide x 18” tall.

Finished up the pillowcases. (Finally)
Size: 19x30
On to the next project.

It’s been a minute, lots going on. Now that the sewing and cutting area is cleaned, let’s see how quickly it can get messy.

Next, pillowcases. This project was started last Nov. For pillowcase I always prewash the fabric. I like mine bigger so the pillow doesn’t peak out. Main fabric cut to 20x26, cuff 10x 27. Slightly longer on cuff just in case.

Finished this one up this morning. This is on a 3.5 inch half hemi, basic star pattern on the back side. It might be hard to see but I used some diamond dust to add some glistening to the snow and rooftops.

For me it kind of feels that way.

Add some bling and the ornament is finished. If I make this pattern again I’ll be mindful of the measurements.
💙☀️❄️✂️🧵✂️❄️☀️💙
My incorrect measurement is really noticeable now that side 2 is completed. (1st pic). Side 1 in second pic.
Now to add a few embellishments.
💙☀️🪡🧵✂️🧵🪡☀️💙
I now understand what I did wrong on side 1. The 1st row (dark blue) was supposed to be 1/8 inch from the center pin, I mistakenly placed it at 1/4 inch. That can make all the difference on such a small project.
🤷🏻♂️🧵🤷🏻♂️
Row 5 completed, I’ll end side 1 here. The pattern calls for a 6th row but there is no room left and I’m over the equator. The 5 layers is challenging to get pins through.
Now on to side 2.

Now back to crafting. Currently working on an ornament kit I purchased at the end of 2025.
Kit is called Alpine Aster in Snow
Let’s see how this goes.

Happy Tuesday!
I’ve been working around the house trying to tackle projects, latest one is painting the fabric room to lighten it up. The orangy sand color really darkened the whole room.
Crafting/sewing will resume soon.

Working on a pinecone ornament and I swear it really looks like an avocado. lol
Always an adventure!

2nd quilt finished for my friends TV room. I decided on a touch of the french braid pattern on both sides.
Size: 52.5 inches wide x 70 inches long, perfect for TV watching.
Pattern: Roman Holiday by Fabric Cafe (with borders modified).

The main section is together and the first border on. I’m going to add 2 more borders, still thinking on the design. I decided against the 4th row, that would have made it too long.
Size: (as is) 40.5 inches wide x 58.5 inches long.
💙🪡☀️✂️🧵✂️☀️🪡💙
First block together, there will be a total of 8 blocks set into 4 rows. This is for a lap quilt to watch TV so it needs to be longer than a usual lap quilt. The first border will be the green, see pic 2 to get an idea.

Sometimes you need some chain piecing to focus on.
Starting the 2nd quilt for my friends TV room.

Finally got the last border on. It can be difficult to see but I added a bit of green to the left and right side of the border. Just to give it a bit of something different.
Have a sewtastic evening.

Finished piecing the rows together and added the 1st small border.
Currently working on the last border (3rd pic). This would be a section and not the full border.
This is for a lap/TV quilt so it needs to be longer and not so wide.

1st 3 rows pieced together. I’ll layout rows 4-6 next and then get everything sewn together. At that point I’ll hopefully figured out the borders. I need to add some width without adding another column. The panel blocks have a little bit of red that sneaks through. Fingers crossed not too much.
