I was never in agony (just itchy and constantly vigilant through discomfort) but I would've given a lot to 'suffer' *just* for two days.

Melbourne buses are ridic. Am staying in Fairfield at the moment and agreed to meet my friend in Kew, which is the suburb immediately south. Here is the fastest route: take the bus down the highway to Collingwood, then catch another back down the highway to Kew. Worse than Canberra.

Another week goes by and today I tried to call the named person in the first example. There's no local number so I had to call the 1800 number that goes to a call centre and then explain the whole situation again. I get told not to hang up during the call transfer but I get a "cannot be reached"...
And they gave me an email address (of an actual person, not generic) for group bookings. Repeat with two other hotels in the area, albeit with generic email addresses.
One hotel came back within a week and two others did not, so I followed up...
