Turned on my Arch VM after three years and tried to update it without reading the patch notes. Four hours later, I've had to deal with circular dependencies, a broken pacman, a broken keyring, and dependent packages that don't even exist somehow. But it's updated. Time to put it down until 2028.

I was, yeah. Thankfully, I just found mklement0's excellent answer at stackoverflow.com/a/58177016 which gave me a much simpler and intuitive syntax that allows me to ignore namespaces entirely.

XPath with namespaces, mostly. Plus the fact that it returns an object so I need to write additional code to just get the value, which is the only thing I need. I've got it working, I just hate how it looks; there's nothing simple or elegant about any of this.

I think the only thing I dislike more than working with JSON in PowerShell is working with XML in PowerShell.

For example, there are at LEAST four different musicians that Tidal groups under "Vana"

It's incredible how there are whole databases of musicians and bands where each one has a unique ID and some streaming services will still throw multiple artists with the same name together if they aren't popular enough.

Two circles, one with a short arrow partially curving counterclockwise above it and the caption "This way left?" and another with a short arrow partially curving clockwise below it and the caption "Or this way left?".

"Lefty loosy" and "righty tighty" are meaningless when it comes to a circle - left across the top and left across the bottom are opposite directions. How about this: "if you need to undo a screw, go back in time." Boom, counterclockwise loosens.

Watching the internet's opinion on combat strategy in video games go from "if you camp and take potshots, then you're bad at the game" to "taking cheap shots is the entire strategy" has been WILD.

If I'm not laughing at least once per act in every episode, you really shouldn't call your TV show a comedy.

"Do Not Comply In Advance": bossy, already a cliche, implies permission to comply later. "Fuck You, Make Me": leads by example, directs yelling at opposition instead of allies, easy to chant at a protest or put on a banner.
