There must be a tipping point were sacrificing certain NATO systems might be beneficial and a trade off for better "insulation" from Russia. Is there any insider information about this?

It's obvious that a US led NATO and even a NATO that just includes the US is counterproductive. At the same time, NATO systems are closely interwoven with the US. On paper, the US has the #1 strongest army in the world, on a real battlefield, this might very well be Ukraine now, that is whipping #2.

Ukraine in NATO will be very beneficial for all. NATO can keep Russia out of Ukraine, while Ukraine can help modernizing NATO to deal with modern warfare. I can imagine that Putin doesn't like that idea one bit. He will go all out on anti-Ukraine propaganda.

Oil makes it easy to control people and nations. Most renewable energy you can't use to do that. It should be a no-brainer, weren't for the rather oily opposition.
