Shout out to all the other moms in minivans listening to Kendrick Lamar while waiting in carline. 📣

Shout out to all of the high school literature teachers nerding out over his use of symbolism. True art. 🤓

Shout out to everyone who saw the halftime performance as a call for change. 🙋‍♀️

I’m fine with it if that’s what it takes, though.

This is a good point. We’re supposed to contact each of our state’s US senators and our US house rep separately.

There are at minimum 15 issues on my list. So I’m at 45 phone calls per day.

Quick important question:

I’ve never had so many pressing issues to contact legislators about, so I’m ignorant about this.

Do I make a separate call for each issue so it can be tallied, or can I make one call with a laundry list of issues?

If I had to, I’d pick it up for certain clients, bake it into their rates, and then discontinue at the end of my time with those clients. But I’d only go through that trouble if it was for clients I really wanted to work with.

I convinced a client once that it wasn’t necessary.

I’ve been playing word Tetris this week, too. It’s across between a puzzle and really dry poetry.

I love asking questions. Asking good questions is often better than knowing the answer.

I have a media degree with an emphasis in journalism. We should partner up sometime. That would be fun!

Hopping in extremely late to #FreelanceChat. @calalouf.bsky.social, this is what I've been wondering, too.

Popular US news sites are underreporting and downplaying it. Many people don't see the extent and serious context of what's happening (not a defense).

Thank you for laying out what can be done. Is there any way everyday citizens can help make any of it quicker so we can mitigate as much damage as possible? Our reputation as a country is at stake and it’s causing distress for people in and out of the country.

What is the plan? We all know this is bad news. What can the average US citizen do today and tomorrow to make the largest impact?

I hope you keep us posted on what you love about it. I haven’t visited there yet.

Audiobooks also make doing chores less mind-numbing.

Oh no! That would be so stressful.

Do you know Ashley Cummings? When she was the speaker in a webinar, she was recording from her phone in a park. A bike messenger stole her phone in the middle of her presentation.

It was the most action-packed webinar I’ve attended.

Just finished watching it with my kid in its entirety for the second time. It’s stunning.

My kid is ready for her learner's permit, so that's not outside the realm of possibility. I know I've backed through the garage door a couple of times.

Experienced an earthquake while chatting with a new client. It's time to make a BINGO sheet of my interesting meetings:

- Meeting while in labor
- Teaching while in labor (different kid)
- Earthquake
- Tornado Warning
- Kid with COVID vomiting in background

What else should I add?
