I'd ask: is this normalizing harm? Celebrating it? Or working through it?

In order to inform others against the real horrors of this world, we need to talk about them. Understand them, make them emotionally manageable. Fiction helps in that.

But also, fiction, music, movies can be used to glamorize those acts, to delude people into desiring being unconscious victims.

It's really funny that no one critiques books with tons of male characters as saying "it's hard to tell which pronouns belong to who" even though it's the exact same issue. I've only ever heard that complaint come up in regards to F/F stories.
