Makes me more miserable about what we’re currently being subjected to daily with the people currently in power in the U.S.

The fact that there are people in the comments disbelieving these numbers are real says a lot (and it’s not good).

People have no idea how their food is grown and how little people are making for the backbreaking work to so we can eat.

I think the percentages in the story are high, which is sad to say.

There’s a group on FB for parents of high school class of 2026.

The majority are tracking their kid non-stop, trying to force their kid to sign HIPAA release forms for when they’re in college or complaining their kid w/ a 4.8 GPA didn’t get into their “safety school.”

It’s . . . something.

My mom lives in NY and has oil heating. She’s in her 80s and the cost of her oil bill every month makes me want to vomit.

I dread when it comes time in a few months for her to lock in her prices w/ the oil company for next winter.

I saw that this morning. I feel bad for the students, faculty and alumni.

But as the parent of a senior in high school, my heart really hurts for the ones admitted for the fall. Decision day is May 1 so I hope they have a backup plan.

His wife went through the self checkout at Target and they use AI facial recognition that doesn’t work well. They said she was a shoplifter, cops show up at their home on a Sunday, arrest and book her, and when her court date comes, judge throws it out due to lack of evidence.

Many of them provide scholarships (both financial aid and merit).

It’s cheaper for my daughter to attend a LAC than it is to go to a public university. Thankfully a smaller setting w/ that learning style is what she’s interested in. It’s not for everyone (I wouldn’t have enjoyed a small school).

LACs and small schools definitely have a place in this country, even if some don’t want us to think so.
