This Trump Judicial Nominee Has a Pretty Alarming Twitter History Rarely has an aspiring Trump judge auditioned this publicly, or with this many hashtags.

Trump nominating a woman who tweets about voter fraud conspiracy theories and openly sympathizes with January 6 rioters makes me think that we are, at most, six months away from him making a judge out of someone who was personally at the Capitol on January 6

I read this criminal complaint and get something different about it:
1) It was written almost exactly a month before statutes of limitation expire--literally last minute.
2) It doesn't REMOTELY meet the standard of proof of the other Jan6 arrest affidavits; even location data spoken of differently.

For reference: Trump's lowest approval rating in his first term was right after January 6th, at 34/62. He is as or nearly as unpopular now as he was when January 6th was fresh in people's minds.

An incredibly devastating decision which simply ignores the human costs and blesses the Trump admin's stripping of status of hundreds of thousands of people who entered the country legally — which the explicit stated goal of rapidly deporting those people without a court hearing.

Trump Intends to Cancel All Federal Funds Directed at Harvard

By now it should be clear that the Trump administration intends to use the power of the state to crush every institution that stands in its way.

There is no refuge in compliance. There will only be more demands, threats, and targets.

We can sit and watch it happen. Or we can unite against it.

Using a difference-in-difference approach, comparing 2024 turnout with differences in 2020, we find that the net effect of J6 arrest was modest, -2.5 pts for 2020-2024 vs. J6ers not arrested.

For 2016-2024, J6er arrest turnout up +17 vs. +11 for J6er not arrested, net diff-in-diff = UP +6 pts

I used to laugh at my Chilean father’s paranoia about life in the US – not any more Having fled here from Chile after Pinochet seized power in 1973 my father feared the state’s arbitrary power to turn lives upside down. His outlook has never felt more relevant

Sociology Professor Stacy Torres writes about how Chile’s failed coup in June 1973 "eerily resembles" the January 6 assault on the US Capitol.

The parallels between Pinochet's brutal dictatorship and today's Trump regime are compelling and worth understanding.

But not ALL Jan. 6 defendants are entitled to it, DOJ says. Only those who were actively appealing their convictions at the time Trump issued his pardon, they say.

Those who were pardoned but had no active appeals are out of luck.
