As someone who's sunk many hours in Star Rail Sim. Uni., I took to this quite quickly. The Silent is the only character that's fully clicked with me, I like both her shiv and poison builds (like follow-up and DoT in Honkai), but I love the synergy between characters in multiplayer. Very addictive...

#3 Slay the Spire II
I know it's early access, but I've cleared a few runs, so I'll consider it 'beaten' (I'm still gonna play a lot more). I never played the first Slay the Spire, but a friend got me this to play multiplayer. He couldn't have picked a worse time than final project season...
RRT is a pretty basic dungeon crawler, but I'm a sucker for zipping through randomly generated dungeons. The music's a big highlight of the game, it does a lot of heavy lifting for the simple story's emotional beats. The pixel and menu art is also fantastic, easily the best from the series on GBA.

Been a while, since I've had school, but:
#2 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team
My friend @jarmesan.bsky.social challenged me to beat this game, so I played through it. I played it a bunch as a kid, but never made it to the end until now. It's pretty satisfying to finally see the ending.

My friend's opening up commissions, and he's really good and you should hire him!
Totally fair, and I'm glad it works for you! Just wish they'd give me an option to play the old way 😅
For me, it's not about what's 'real work' or whatever, but about how much time I spend with my whole team. I find that if a 'mon is carried by XP share, I don't spend time training with it and develop a bond. I end up only bringing them out if they're useful...
Happy 40th Anniversary, Legend of Zelda! Can't say in a few words how important and influential these games have been to me throughout my life, but I don't think I would have gotten into video games and game design without them. Spent the day playing Zelda 1 and Ocarina, two of my favourites.
I just played AC4 as per the play order list you put out a while back, and I'm hooked. Will be seeking out AC5 asap.
But I'll never forget the chills of hearing the enemy squadron panic when they see me coming. "Oh god, is that Mobius 1?"
You're damn right, and you'd best be ready.
And the story of Yellow Squadron from the perspective of the young boy living in occupied territory was a really grounded perspective on the war. It motivated me a lot more to keep playing and see the country liberated, and made me fear them when I finally got in dogfights with them.
This game has a great variety of scenarios, mixing up air/ground targets, and the context and pacing of the missions. Stonehenge's first use and escaping from it was a real highlight. The music does a lot of work making you feel tension and adrenaline at just the right times.

Gonna make a list of games I beat this year starting with:
Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies
After AC8 got announced recently, I saw a writer I like post a play order list for these games and thought I'd give it a go, since it also turns 25 this year. Good god, this game slaps.
I enjoyed the Sega CD version, it was the easiest one to jump into without messing with fan translations. Also I heard the Saturn version of Policenauts is the best, and I like to keep playing game series on the same console family.
Alright, I found a Game Boy Color for 40 bucks while thrifting, the year's off to a good start 🙏
Happy New Year! 2025 was challenging for me and a lot of others, but hopefully we can turn things around with a clean slate. Here's hoping 2026 will go better 🤞
You're living in the future...
The backlights on our QLED are failing the top and bottom, after about 5 years, I think? Pretty disappointing, our old LED TV from 2006 lasted 15 years before breaking, and the issue was something to do with input selection.
Thanks, good to know 👍
Thanks, I've been meaning to get into these. Are the first 3 games still worth playing?
Ive been eyeing that game in your background for ages! Looking forward to see it!

Paul McCartney's still got it 🥲 Overjoyed I got to see him tonight
First time I saw you guys was at a con (I think it was Capital Games Expo...) showing of The Blobs Fight. Convinced me to go to the same program!
I've tried playing through Halo CE with remastered graphics a few times, but I always toggle back to the original before long. This one just ain't it.
That was a pack-in with my PS2, and my sister and I played it all the time. Lots of great memories, I think we 100% beat it twice! Of course, it was Hot Shots Tennis for us...
