As Hawaiians continue to recover from two major Kona Low storms, UMCOR is supporting the relief efforts of the California-Pacific Annual Conference through a solidarity grant, which will provide support to evacuees in Oahu, the hardest-hit island.
General Secretary Roland Fernandes welcomed the boards of directors of GBGM, UMCOR and GBHEM to their Spring meeting during his report today. He encouraged both boards to lead and serve as peacemakers, emphasizing the urgent need for faithful global engagement in this time of deep instability.
As we pray, UMCOR is also coordinating and communicating with regional partners and stands ready to offer humanitarian support to the people of Cuba.
