I get told so often how AI is making programming so great and so easy and more productive, and then the downstream user experience is that every tech product is breaking at the same time.
Girl okay.

Beautiful, easy to use, and extremely helpful while I work on design concepts.
If you only have your business on a marketplace like Etsy or Tiktok, it can be risky. What happens if they change the rules? Having your own site helps manage those changes.

I know this is supposed to be a business account, but I always get weirdly embarrassed when I need to post things. So, I guess please excuse the dust lol.
there was the commissioning and then canceling of that Pride collection by queer and trans artists, then there was the DEI rollback, now it’s AI-driven false arrests. Target is setting land-speed records for torching customer goodwill, given how high their popularity and how far they had to fall

It make take longer to wireframe with her on my lap, but it's worth it. #cat
I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses

Traffic is a big benefit of big platforms and one of the reasons an independent shop seems so intimidating. What if no one uses it? Tomorrow's newsletter will give you a tip on how to build traffic to your own site... before it even exists.

The image advertises Motley Animal Bandanas. Three bandana designs feature abstract, symmetrical animals. The first on the left features four bats in light blue against a dark blue background with moon, soundwave and water drop motifs. The second in the middle features wolves' heads in red against black, with paw, tree, moon and star motifs. The third on the right features a pair of sharks in each corner in white against denim blue. In a darker faded blue around them are motifs of anchors, chains, waves, hooks and buoys. The gaps in the cross for this design are made to resemble bites that were taken out of it. At the top, overlaying the three designs, is the word "Kickstarter".
With the prior bandanas coming in (and gosh, they're good quality), it's time for more! Bats, Wolves (you asked for it) and Sharks! #furry #furryart #merch #graphicdesign www.kickstarter.com/projects/cap...
If you get self-conscious about posting repeated promo, let me give you all my long-standing promo-hack, for free. (I'm not currently using it, but I will be soon! lol)
This is a site without an algo, but also one that does not punish links. So what you want to do is make a strategic thread.

As someone who's done years of user experience design, this is absolutely true
It felt like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
I worked at a company where the original data structure used to build it wasn't enough. They HAVE to rebuild EVERYTHING from the ground up at some point, but they're scared of the time sink (2yrs). My work was on internal software and the data issue kept coming up. But no. They'd pick other "needs"
This is SO cool.
I've been trying to learn from people with very different styles of presenting information, but I, unsurprisingly, have a soft spot for more artsy #marketing resources. What are some other creators I should learn from?

Your service, your product, whatever it is you’re doing needs to help people. So find the pain points and solve them. Then tell people that you solved them. Document the journey.

Dabble in light controversy to get engagement. Not actual controversy. At one of my previous jobs, the standard icebreaker question was: Do you pour milk or cereal into the bowl first? And people got HEATED.
Because most mobile websites have abysmal UX and I’m not downloading an app for one thing.

Virality seems to be more of a curse than a blessing. Thankfully finding the right audience and engaging them is a lot more likely than going viral.

Define the purpose of your business. “We exist to [blank].” But at the same time “your brand is who people think you are,” so you need to live up to it.
It’s been a long while since I’ve had to do any real marketing, so I’ve been trying to catch up. Youtube is, of course, a gold mine for very different perspectives.
Thread of #marketing takeaways while I learn how to do this the less corporate way!
