This is just our first post, with many more to come, as well as The 75’s coalition website, podcast, social media campaigns, and events. We intend to take you with us on this journey as we connect with other groups, politicians, and citizens to educate, inspire, and empower new leaders.
On this day, the 50-year anniversary of the Buckley v. Valeo filing, we are proud to publicly announce the formation of The 75, a coalition with the mission to revert back to the robust election laws in place before the controversial Buckley decision.
Do you know the incredibly significant event that happened 50 years ago today? It is never really discussed or taught in schools, so odds are you aren’t familiar with it.
The date was January 2, 1975 and the event was the filing of a judicial appeals case called Buckley v. Valeo.
