The £19k pay rise is morally reprehensible and totally unjustifiable.

“For those who keep saying Scotland’s performance is the best in the UK – that may well be true – but is being the ‘least worst’.. something to be lauding?” - Dr John-Paul Loughrey, vice-president (Scotland) Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Don’t deflect. People die due to Gray’s incompetence

A £19k pay bump for, say, a health secretary who presides over a crisis-hit NHS and misleads parliament is ok? Question - what does 8% mean in real terms for SNHS staff? I’d guess it’s less than £19k. Also, just a reminder - health is fully devolved. The buck stops with Scottish Government

So you’re happy with the use of the line “times are tough” while ministers who are failing in their briefs are awarded £19k in pay rises? What would a £19k bump mean to, say, NHS staff? It’s hypocritical, petty politicking from a First Minister who is all spin and no substance
