On the blog today is #FallingFast the first in @nlbro.bsky.social Drummond and McGregor series published by Grey Dog Books. The book was published over ten years ago but only came out on Audible last year when it caught my eye. Narrated by Angus King.

When is it going to be enough, @johnswinney.bsky.social? When are you going to show a spine and sack this disrespectful, incompetent oaf who is clearly unfit for public office? Or is this going to be another example of party before principle?
One week ago today....Connor Fraser took his last steps into fiction....well for now at least.
Relive the series with this guide to Stirling and Belfast via the novels

And then, somehow, there were ten. The hardest book I’ve ever had to write. Started it as a son, ended it as an orphan. Hope you all enjoy it…

Pointless, performative, petty politicking. State the blatantly obvious, deliver nothing. Meanwhile, the problems that fuel the far-right reactionary “look how bad things are” narrative go unresolved. But it’s to be expected from @johnswinney.bsky.social, an FM big on rhetoric, low on delivery
Who fancies a game of Broadfoot Bingo? How many Connor Fraser's have you read? Book 7 is on its way.... #ExitWounds

The £19k pay rise is morally reprehensible and totally unjustifiable.
“For those who keep saying Scotland’s performance is the best in the UK – that may well be true – but is being the ‘least worst’.. something to be lauding?” - Dr John-Paul Loughrey, vice-president (Scotland) Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Don’t deflect. People die due to Gray’s incompetence
A £19k pay bump for, say, a health secretary who presides over a crisis-hit NHS and misleads parliament is ok? Question - what does 8% mean in real terms for SNHS staff? I’d guess it’s less than £19k. Also, just a reminder - health is fully devolved. The buck stops with Scottish Government
So you’re happy with the use of the line “times are tough” while ministers who are failing in their briefs are awarded £19k in pay rises? What would a £19k bump mean to, say, NHS staff? It’s hypocritical, petty politicking from a First Minister who is all spin and no substance
So tough you waved through £19k pay rises for your ministers, including the inept Neil Grey, who insulted dementia sufferers, misled parliament and took a ministerial car to the football. These Spad-spun lines to take don’t work in the glare of such hypocrisy, John
Excellent plan… right, flyes jt is!
