When you say "release a version that forces an upgrade" you mean forces an upgrade of the PACKAGE or the CMS version?

Personally, I'm happy to update packages that have fixed an important issue, or added a great new feature, but I wouldn't want a package to force me to upgrade Umbraco...

Well, it wasn't called "CG". It was a small gathering at Doug Robar's home in Louisville, KY, in 2007. I think we called it an "Umbraco Retreat"

This is great ๐Ÿ™‚ I've been following you for several years, and am happy for your successes. Your 2025 changes sound right on target. I love the idea of the "win now" mentality. A lot of us keep moving the goal posts and don't take enough time to acknowledge (and enjoy!) the progress we have made.

There are totally legit uses for text files, just think of small custom configs which don't need to be in app settings. Not everything needs to be in a database.

My article "Using Umbraco UI Builder to Edit Data Stored Locally in JSON Files" is included in the 2024 "24 Days" collection.
The Umbraco UI Builder Add-in is a great tool to give your Umbraco users the ability to view and edit data. But what if your data is stored in a text file?
