I'm an atheist, so why can't I shake the feeling that we're all in The Bad Place?

I need a new hyperfixation. I don't if it's the downfall of the U.S. or if fiber arts have lost their luster, but I'm not getting that sweet dopamine hit anymore.

I feel like that's how the press has discussed everything. They need to be sounding alarms, not treating a coup like an interesting talking point.
