A colourful on on-line ad for an opening reception to welcome two new pieces of (donated by JT Inda Haus) to the Native Art Renaissance Gallery in New Westminster, British Columbia. Being held on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026 6:00 to 8:00 pm at 721 Carnarvon Street.

One of pieces, previously displayed at the New Westminster Museum, is a 7' x 12' installation by Luke Parnell (Wilp Laxgiik Nisga’a from Gingolx on his mother’s side and Haida from Massett on his Father’s side) https://mfineart.ca/macaulay-co-fine-art/artists/luke-parnell/ and anotherlarge piece called "Sorry, Harper" by a Vancouver-based non-indigenous artist, Cathy Busby https://cathybusby.ca/2026/uh-huh-sorry. 

Both pieces are meant to spur helpful, respectful, curious conversations about the meaning of Truth and the meaning of Reconciliation in Canada.

Heartbreaking news today from the Qayqayt First Nation. Condolences to her family from all of #NewWest. Rhonda was a strong leader and a fierce advocate who touched 1000s of lives, but her family was her greatest joy, and I hope they can take comfort in memories of that love at this difficult time.
