As a social democrat who's lived overseas, I fully agree. Americans literally don't know what they are missing. Just watched "Where to Invade Next" by Michael Moore, and it should be required watching. It's 10 years old, but it highlights just how broken we are and how things could work.

Gene Roddenberry was a secular humanist. Looking back, those beliefs were written into every episode one way or another—the focus on science, morality, ethics, cooperative humanity, etc.
It was my favorite show as a kid, so not surprising I became a secular humanist as an adult.
My dads business partner "had" 3 kids. The youngest found his gun and ended up shooting her brother in the head killing him. She was 5 and he was almost 7 and she had mental issues after and the couple divorced. If the US didn't have such a gun fetish this shit wouldn't happen but it does every day.
Most people with guns don't need them. I knew a couple who were fighting over his infidelity. He was cleaning his gun and "accidentally" shot her in the chest. She died in the ambulance at only 31. He married the woman he was cheating with months later and moved to Vegas for a new start.

They are mostly Republicans and supporters of Trump. My manager bought a cyber truck when Musk was doing his Doge atrocities. He insists it's self driving instead of driver assisted and that it floats on water even though it catches fire and sinks. I work from home or would have quit by now.
It's a corporate video I've watched 9 times covering active shooters, discrimination, unions, and other crap they find important. I lost my mom to gun violence, so I hate the graphic active shooter one depicting an attack on an office, and people shot and dying on the floor with blood pools.

We've been gross since we set foot on the shores of America. The treatment of Native Americans, Mexicans, slaves, women in general, and more. America has the potential to be great, but we've never fully lived up to the hype. I'm tired of both sides doing a shitty job. We need accountability now.

I was a CWA member in my last job. My current job makes us watch a video each year about the downsides of unions and how they just take your money and give you nothing in return. Pisses me off each time I have to take it and the quiz that follows cause I know it's a lie.

Politicians represent the people so they should get what the least of us get. Punching a time clock and working 40 hrs a week at minimum wage is a good start. No pensions, no month-long vacations, no graft, and no lies. If I lied at my job, I'd be fired. They should have to pass a govt test to run.

We have more than a little work to do. We could start with adopting the Nordic education system, Japan's gun laws, etc. Take the best programs other countries have and implement them here. We might actually be great one day. Personally, I'm tired of the rich ruling us. We need a Social Democracy!
