The UK actually has top tier weather. Four distinct seasons. Never too hot or too cold. No extreme weather disaster stuff either. Not many places have it better.

Following on from my previous post on little aviation museum gems. If you are in the Reading area visit the Museum of Berkshire Aviation, RG7 4UE. Worth a little visit.

Most of these engines are worn out, but I do run as many as I can. Will video them next time they run.

So what did Vikings really look like?
TV/movies tell us they looked like dollar-store biker gangs, wearing black leather, covered in dirt and allergic to colours... but in reality... they looked like 1970s pop singers.

Seriously, thread time.🧵

Here are two lovely examples (there are more) of the Davies Charlton Merlin's (0.75cc). The Red Head is a Super Merlin (Aero), launched in July 1955. The second is a Marine version to be used on boats.

I do love the box's that that these engines came in. Here is a selection of small British diesel engines (apart from the test stand).

So, I collect British made model diesel engines. Some may wonder what I mean By 'Diesel' engine. For models the diesel engines are two stroke, with capacities less then 5cc. The term diesel is a bit misleading as these engines are not true diesels but are indeed a Compression Ignition (C.I) engines.
