Officers and gentlemen - middle part of the Sword of Honour trilogy - Guy involved in the catastrophic Crete campaign

I’m not wilfully misunderstanding your point but I would like to say that the whole SNP independence shtick is based on Scots as a repressed ethnic minority (‘wha’s like us’). Not at all on the virtues of decentralisation, local control and other potential justifications for independence.
Genuinely sounds like the bots that used to ‘check’ my expenses at KPMG
Presumably half of the pages are in Welsh and half in Saes?
The Graun spent years campaigning for a Lab Govt and then within days of having one (April 97) started saying ‘we want more’ in the style of a spoiled child. Lost their credibility to millions then
I’m glad you said that. This isn’t a case of too much money … demand will suppress itself
He went to K2 as well, I think
You know we had one of those for gas (Rough, off Lincs) which I’m pleased to say I visited - it was a jewel in the privatisation of British Gas - but it got closed in 2017.
It seemed analogous to pumped storage - up/ in at cheap rates, down/ out to capture value. Big investment tho’.

#wine just finished some #moet (gift at Xmas) and opened a Tesco blanquette de #limoux and I’ve got to say the latter is just, you know, BETTER (shown here with cassis in it).
Just using their phones for the translation and not understanding the mutation
The campaign for real rugby scores starts here
Next: 6-7
Then 5-3 ..,
‘Run rate’ lol😹
As of now I’ll be pleasantly surprised if Wales beat anyone. My Q to you would be: if Glasgow players can turn it round against Toulouse, why can’t a similar group shut out Argentina or NZ? Experienced players too. Is it the coaching or are they prone to brain fades?
What I thought he shd have said, but bottled, is: Scotland under Townsend have run out of road. You have an exceptional group of players, many from a team that beat Toulouse from 21-0 down; the implication (I agree) is that Townsend subtracts value. I can see Scotland being 0 from 2 after England …
My 2c: yes
Good luck to him and the Villa, but he was no game-changer for Swansea back in the day.
My 2c: I think it’s just moved into the mainstream as shorthand for anything seeking alpha by any means/ not following indices or benchmarks.
Was a time (mid 80s for me) when it was used pejoratively by others to describe ‘short term’ investors such as IPO flippers (stags in very old terminology!).
On your feet, #swansea
(And Neath, Bridgend etc)

Enjoy your trip. I’ve had several enjoyable and successful journeys (all northbound from Euston) in the last few months. Birmingham is quite a late board, so I’ll be interested to hear what station facilities are like.
#art is always more interesting when you’ve seen the original #Heidelberg #jmwturner
Better out than in!

Wonderful book on multiple levels. Herzog went on to become a Govt minister. Lachenal sadly died not long after (but has a ski run in Chamonix bearing his name).
‘There are other Annapurnas in the lives of men’.
I guess he had quite a lot of practice about fessing up on various things over the years 🤪
Great recommendation! I miss TiboPino too
You’ve got it. We go to see them with a prepared list of chat because we are all phobic about silence and ‘want the meeting to last a long time’. But sometimes they don’t have the bandwidth to process it all, and pausing is (for them) kinder than continuing to witter on. Silence can be golden.
I’m sure you know I was being flippant, but honestly that might be our model in 10 or so years time
And then we can maybe beg the English prem/champ to let us set up a pro team to go into ‘their’ league.
Quoting myself, the Argentina model.
Quite the performance by the WRU to destroy a whole tier of sport, one which few other countries even have; you might, laughably, have thought that pro teams were a competitive advantage worth having.
