I'm going to be rude here and share my opinion that the currently salivitated over 'speculative fiction' is just insecure youngsters clawing for acknowledgement.

Doesn't work that way for me. To get into dev mode I clean up code, make first (working) blocks shorter and sexier and slide into coding new chunks (that often combine chunks).
When writing fiction (the story that the code fires), I get less 'logical' and more 'imaginitive'.
Distinctly different.

Maybe next time vote like it. May be a while since the man got elected, let's not forget that. And so did Hitler. Let's not forget that. I don't think the US will have any elections either any time soon.
