The phrasing of at the dinner table or on the job is about to send me into a tirade I swear to GOD.

Idk, I'd just really rather ask a librarian or bookseller than a robot to help me understand a subject. It's more helpful and 9 out of 10 times we end up bonding over something random, like their calendar featuring dogs in sweaters.

Bald! Bald! Bald! Bald!

After 3.5 weeks of hell, everything might finally be resolved. The car is fixed. Beast is healthy and on the mend with antibiotics. He smells like rotting death and I'm 3k poorer/indebted. But hey at least it's all over. ๐

An emotional journal entry talking about the murders committed by ICE agents and how it feels unfair to be using reading as an escape. It ends with "When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty." By Thomas Jefferson.
A doodled bookshelf showing the books I have read so far in 2026.
Journal entries for my first two ARC reads, Seasons of Glass and Iron: Stories by Amal El-Mohtar and Renegades #1: The Magic Awakens by Erin Hunter.
First time working in my reading journal since January. Had to get some feelings out, add the ARC reads I finished, and get my hand and wrist muscles used to writing again.
A picture of a cat (Klaus) in a comforter, the poster is naming and shaming him for throwing up in his own food at 5am
The Defendant: Klaus the cat
The Crime: throwing up in his own food bowl at 5am
Verdict: Guilty
We picked up our copy from our favorite local book store, you should do the same!

Ad featuring the snazzy Juniper Books dust jackets of the Sworn Soldier books, and that 5% of sales will be donated to trans lifeline
Hey gang, from today until April 30th, Juniper Books is gonna be donating a portion of sales of the fancy Sworn Soldier editions to Trans Lifeline!
These are absurdly gorgeous and for such a good cause, but gosh I love the original printing art so so much. How will I ever decide?! ๐ Is this how I end up with my first intentionally kept duplicates......
That was an insane read. To then get snippy at you as if you were supposed to be impressed by his fictitious little tirade on social media??
Today is a great day because we can officially say that INDIE BOOKSTORE DAY IS ONE MONTH AWAY ๐
Mark your calendars for April 25, prepare your TBRs, and get ready to show your indies all the love they deserve!

I hate that book naming conventions have become a trend. It makes me immediately judge a book unfairly based on previous titles. I just saw a YA horror on Netgalley that follows an almost identical naming convention of one of my favorite authors (in the same genre!!!) and I am afraid to request it.

Well, we grabbed books from our local indie bookshop instead of from a certain online mega-retailer. Let's bring that energy back.

My baby man is getting older and it's killing me. His late night ER visit resolved the issue with nothing catastrophic - but we found out he has some pretty progressed arthritis in his pelvis that we had no idea about. He has been a trooper and we have added new routines to help his old guy bones.
that really pulled me out of meeting these characters. Overall, I'm excited to see what the next book in the series will be like.
that is introduced later in the book. The book has an explosive climax that sets the rest of the series up to be very dramatic in all the best ways I've come to expect from the Erins. However, I will admit they used some of their usual sloppy/lazy writing for the first half of the book
I finished Renegades: The Magic Awakens by Erin Hunter! Spoiler free review below. The book comes out May 19th, and my review on NetGalley will be published officially that day. Overall, I rated it 3 out of 5 stars. I adored the magic system and the character writing for Willow and her companion
My absolute favorite had to be the story of the girl with the book at her throat, and either of the stories involving dreams. The world is an amazing place, and finding each other through spectacular and mundane ways is beautiful.
What would cohesively fit in one work. I found myself jotting down notes of beautiful sceneries and images El-Mohtar wrote, and my mind is stuck chasing the idea of things always being loops, mirror images, equals and opposites throughout the universe. What a spectacular read.
Short stories, and other works spanning years. This is not something I would normally pick up for myself! However, I am glad I did. I was mesmerized by the subtle theming throughout each entry - it is clear the author often wanted to pursue one concept or setting or quandary in different ways than
A NetGalley listing showing the cover of Seasons of Glass and Iron by Amal El-Mohtar at 100% read. The book cover depicts a rabbit chasing the tail end of a fox, with both of them phasing in and out of a non-Euclidian shape.
I finished my ARC of Seasons of Glass and Iron by Amal El-Mohtar. When I picked this up, the only thing I knew about the author was they wrote Red's chapters in This is How You Lose the Time War. I was almost (almost) disappointed to discover this is an anthology or collection of poems,...
"The sea is not quiet; the sea is an angry choir of dissonant voices, all taking turns striking their rage against the shore." Amal El-Mohtar, the person that you are!!! I'm almost done with Seasons of Glass and Iron, and it is well worth the read.

Hey, so this is fantastic LOL. I love that it is becoming more prevalent to break down the theology of these fictional cats, cause it truly is intricate and unique. Warrior cats, as shoddy as the writing is sometimes, remains my favorite long-running series ever.
