The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”

Jeffries on Kash Patel: "We have to stop putting all the blame on the people who nominated this incompetent, toxic, malignant individual. What about the people who confirmed him? It's extraordinary to me that Senate Republican confirmed people like Noem, Bondi, Hegseth, RFK Jr, and Patel."

One of the Sandy Hook families lives in hiding 1500 mi away from their baby’s grave due to people stalking them.

The graves of multiple children have been defaced.

One of the fathers had to submit DNA evidence to prove his son was a REAL HUMAN BEING after Alex Jones’ book said he never existed.

Doesn't this just tell you everything you need to know about the state of the British Right? People who are not outright supporting or flirting with Trump are keeping their heads down.

The Adjudicated Rapist-in-Chief claims he could bring down the Papacy, the Vatican & the entire Catholic Church overnight.

Pope Leo: "The world is being ravaged by a handful of tyrants...
dragging that which is sacred into darkness & filth."

I have been stalked twice in my life. Once at 21yo while I was in the military and couldn't "just go live somewhere else."
Again, when I was 40-year-old, they even screwed a board across my storm door, so I couldn't open it. I lived 26 miles from town. I was raped. #METOO

Meet Your Heroes We have all heard the saying, “Never meet your heroes.” I never believed in that notion.

Wrote about how the notion of never meeting your heroes is bullshit. Go say hi to them. Go tell them what their work means to you. As a horror writer, it was inspiring to meet @stephengrahamjones.com whose work and story of his career have meant a lot to me

1. That's not a direct quote. If you're going to put something in quotation marks and then go, "Wow. He just came right out and said it," it should be a direct quote.

2. This speech is from 2018. Don't present it as new/recent.

3. The actual content of the speech is bad enough.

JK Rowling’s support of transphobia has been absolutely catastrophic for the entire world. She funded a far right movement, tested, weaponized it—and it is a cancer eating away at multiple societies. She normalized a lying narrative about people that will plague future generations. She is a curse.

Richard Stupid Tice would like to clarify that the £100k in tax he hasn't paid is different to the £92k tax he hasn't paid or the £600k tax he hasn't paid. Just in case anyone didn't appreciate the extent of his tax dodging. I mean fiscal prudence.

Ex-model, arrested by Aventura police and deported, causes White House stir A Brazilian brought to the U.S. on an Epstein plane at age 16 lashes out at the Trumps, saying she was betrayed by her friend Melania.

So this is what prompted Melania to make that bizarre speech.

What’s incredible is that Ungaro’s tweets didn’t mention Epstein or claim Melania met Trump through Epstein, just that she had damaging info. So why did Melania leap to that the next day?

Letterboxd screenshot showing six films: It Was Just an Accident 4.5 stars near perfect, The Drama 4 star cringe fun. Ready or Not 2 so so sequel and Gueles Noires okay mining mummy horror - both worth a watch. Sadly couldn't finish Match, a dating/Basket Case horror with the always great Humberly González, so shout out to her. YMMV, so give it a try, and respect for the practical effects.

Not Friday and not 4, but The Drama & It Was Just an Accident both superb, wasn't leaving either off, Zendaya & Pattinson great in anti-romcom, Accident very funny & very tragic & very good. Enjoyed Undertone more than most, enjoyed Ready or Not 2 less than I hoped #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Oh it really can.

You put a bunch of corrupt, racist, incompetent, lying Trumpists in charge and things will get very much worse.
Potholes and empty shops will feel unimportant compared to the loss of the NHS, social care and a torched economy.

These are going to come for the left too. They financially motivated — Macedonian teenager type stuff for the AI era. Scammers profiting off of easily enraged people. MAGA may be more susceptible to ragebait but worth understanding what’s going to happen in 2026 and 2028.

Yikes! Always something…

We better wake up to what’s happening online. The right isn’t just posting anymore; they’re scaling influence with AI.

📌 AI-generated pro-Trump “influencers” are surging on social media and are starting to shape what people see and believe.
