This is very odd. Does he know that the Bible doesn't make Abraham the ancestor of *only* the Israelites?

A lot more lower-paid jobs, like nursing, require degrees now, and that has been a long-term trend. People talk about there being too many students, but you need a degree for almost any skilled/white-collar job with prospects, so employers have had a lot to do with driving this.

Screen capture from the Doctor Who account on Facebook. The post reads: Doctor Who 1h · Get ready to duel across time and space once again! Legendary trading card game #DoctorWho: BATTLES IN TIME will return in 2026 starting with the Retroduction set featuring eight brand new cards! There is a photograph of 5 cards: Fifteenth Doctor, Thirteenth Doctor, Eleventh Doctor, Rose Tyler and Dalek Emperor. The new cards use the same design as the old, making much use of the elliptical shape from the 2005-2009 titles.
Is anyone here involved in the relaunch of Doctor Who: Battles in Time? Will there be a magazine again, or just the cards?

Interesting post from Geoff Mulgan on the risks of a hollow centre - and the perhaps temporary respite of a populist 'enemy' to rally against

Frontispiece from Lincoln’s 1916 book Revelations of an International Spy, showing a man in a suit and bow tie, holding papers, wearing a moustache, and looking at camera through small round glasses
Well, if it’s 6 October, it’s the 82nd anniversary of the day the world was deprived of Ignatius Trebitsch-Lincoln, who was born a Hungarian Jew, got elected to the House of Commons, spied for Germany in both world wars, and eventually declared himself the 14th Dalai Lama...
This is a fascinating and scary little video. And what South Korea is experiencing is only slightly ahead of where the UK and many advanced economies are.
Without immigration, we are FUCKED. I mean TOTALLY FUCKED. Yet all parties compete to stop migration. It's madness.

I appreciate the way this article about Charlie Kirk highlights the role of algorithms and information bubbles in the different perceptions people have of him.

The firing of Jimmy Kimmel due to government pressure has rightly shaken those committed to free speech. Entertainers have always criticized politicians. The sign of a good politician who values free speech is to let them; only authoritarians take revenge - just ask the Romans./1
