Self-check and other labor/cost saving measures (including AI) are not introduced to benefit the consumer. They are put in place to increase the profits of the owners (capitalists). Savings are only passed onto the consumer if a competitor uses the savings to undercut another seller. Classic Econ.
I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the fact that corporations like Amazon, don’t pay a single cent to maintain the roads they use, the transportation system they use, the courts they use, they pay nothing for the infrastructure that is absolutely critical to their business.

Much of our foreign policy and modern foreign "interventions" involve oil: WW II with Japan, Gulf Wars I & II, agreements with the Saudis and UAE, our military presence in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
Most Americans don't know of this because it happened before they were born and it's not taught in our schools. We fomented that coup along with MI6 because the PM nationalized Iranian oil. Just like Venezuela. There's an obvious pattern here. A toxic stew of oil, religion, and greed.
