Hey, #dotnet community! I'm creating a list of companies that actively use Microsoft .NET so we can show our support by engaging with their businesses. Do you know any great companies using .NET? Drop them in the comments! I'll share the compiled list soon. Let’s build together! 🚀💻

1989 Sony Watchman FDM-330 Portable Color LCD TV
Mono’s build system was complicated over the need to bootstrap the C# compiler and the recursive dependencies that some assemblies had
It took years of work, but in the end, anyone could build a fresh installation with “make install” and run our tests suites with “make check
It was well worth it
In 1986, Sony dropped the SMC-210, their first portable PC in the US
This is a two-panel meme talking about "Programmers before" and "Programmers now" for lulz. On the left, side we have "Programmers before," a muscular dog wearing sunglasses and a long black coat stands confidently like matrix character and below that image text is a bulleted list aw follows: * Take the red pill * Escape the Matrix * Rewrite the Matrix code * Fix a bug * Enter the Matrix again with the blue pill On the right, text reads "Programmers now," a smallerdog sits with a questioning expression. Below this image is the text that reads: "How do I exit Vim?"

NASA image captured March 29, 2011 Early this morning, at 5:20 am EDT, MESSENGER captured this historic image of Mercury. This image is the first ever obtained from a spacecraft in orbit about the Solar System's innermost planet. Over the subsequent six hours, MESSENGER acquired an additional 363 images before downlinking some of the data to Earth. The MESSENGER team is currently looking over the newly returned data, which are still continuing to come down. The dominant rayed crater in the upper portion of the image is Debussy. The smaller crater Matabei with its unusual dark rays is visible to the west of Debussy. The bottom portion of this image is near Mercury's south pole and includes a region of Mercury's surface not previously seen by spacecraft. Over the next three days, MESSENGER will acquire 1185 additional images in support of MDIS commissioning-phase activities. The year-long primary science phase of the mission will begin on April 4, and the orbital observation plan calls for MDIS to acquire more than 75,000 images in support of MESSENGER's science goals. On March 17, 2011 (March 18, 2011, UTC), MESSENGER became the first spacecraft to orbit the planet Mercury. The mission is currently in its commissioning phase, during which spacecraft and instrument performance are verified through a series of specially designed checkout activities. In the course of the one-year primary mission, the spacecraft's seven scientific instruments and radio science investigatio...

The good news is that the constitution provides ways for Congress and the Judiciary to reign in a power-hungry president. The bad news is those people are all scared of him.
The Mormon Church teaches people to seek truth, then excommunicates people who tell it.

screenshot of a Reddit post that says: What is Superman's "Kryptonite". In literature, mythology, and comic books heroes often have a "kryptonite" or "Achilles's heel", basically a weakness that makes them vulnerable. I'm curious what fans here would consider to be Superman's "Kryptonite"?
People are dunking on this, but what a great sign that a word has truly established itself in the lexicon.

Optimizing IEnumerable Counting in Microsoft.NET: The Fastest Approach Revealed
To count elements in an IEnumerable collection, developers typically use the Count() method from System.Linq. Enumerable, with alternatives like TryGetNonEnumeratedCount() and LongCount() also available.
A two-panel cartoon humorously shows "the talk" across generations. The top panel shows parents giving their child the traditional "when two people love each other very much..." talk. The bottom panel reverses this, showing the grown child giving their parents "the talk" about "when someone calls and says they're from Microsoft Tech Support..." The cartoon uses simple, bright ideas to highlight the generational difference in the type of important conversations being had.
