I respect several of these authors a great deal, so I’m going to more carefully read through it for a thorough critique in regard to centering patients with HIV/AIDS & disability justice

Remember in 2020-2021, when as a society, we collectively eliminated a strain of influenza (B/Yamagata) due to multilayered protections widely implemented for COVID? So much so that it was removed from the annual flu vaccine? Good times. 😷

Qualitative RT-PCR (test #13998), which is specific for Influenza A and H5N1.
Swab can be nasopharyngeal, anterior nares, or oropharyngeal swab. Can also collect sample of BAL wash.

Healthcare professionals can order H5N1 molecular test (NAA) through @labcorp.bsky.social (test #140046) - which is Influenza A and B with reflex testing for H5N1 if A is positive. Only validated for nasopharyngeal swab.

Five years ago I got sick and I never got better. Today is the anniversary of when the neuro symptoms began causing me to be hospitalized for 5 days. Little did I know of how much worse it could and would get. Chronic illness anniversaries are complicated.
