Thatβs fair. βAllβ can be a big word when it comes attached to disappearance. Yielding to impermanence can feel either clarifying or unsettling for sure.

My white dog walking me on a path through the woods this morning. Sunlight streaming through the trees.
White Dog Komorebi
old path
black earth

reads
what has already
passed
I follow
not knowing
is sometimes
the road

Thank you so much. ππΌπ There is much meaning to be found there, it can be overwhelming. Itβs not difficult to find Civil War bullets or even British cannonballs from the Revolution. Sometimes I try to see the river through a soldierβs eyes, but more recently as a place of tranquility and continuance.
Late afternoon sun on the Appomattox River. Seen through branches, the sun glistening on the water.
the river below
and the light
coming apart
in the branches
for a while
that was enough
I did not need
to understand it
only to be there
while the day
gave itself back
to shadow
and the water
went on

Photograph of a winter field with trees in the far distance on the horizon and a hazy sky
nothing dramatic
only quiet
growing wider
only sky
thinning around its own frame
only self
for a few minutes
becoming
too slight a thing
to keep interrupting

Very true. In time. all will return. I drove past this house a few days ago, turning back as soon as I could to get the photo. When I see a ruin, I often think about who was it that lived there and what was their life like?

Iβve stopped writing as many longer pieces than I used to for just that reason. As people scroll, they just donβt take the time to read them. I try to make a point of reading the longer pieces because they can be some of the best.
This has a beautiful, old-world romantic β€οΈ feel to it, Mischa. Sensual and ethereal imagery, and I like how the dream vision becomes both a blessing and a loss. Very heartfelt and dramatic in a good way! πππ

Late afternoon on the Appomattox River. Sun through the trees on the shore casting shadows.
hours
