The IOC's New Policy Isn't Really a Trans Story Every headline says the IOC banned trans women from the Olympics. The athletes who’ll actually be barred are cis women who’ve never heard of the SRY gene.

It's not *just* trans folks. It's people with DSD. CAIS women can compete, but it's case-by-case for others based on the results of an SRY test.

Fact is, most trans individuals don't participate at the Olympic level. Those with DSD do.

It's not sudden. I know in my state it was removed from the standards entirely, but they recently put it back. My wife taught it anyway. The kids should at least learn how to sign their own name! And maybe read the cards grandma gives them, too.
