To be more specific I understand that MSRP is more for big box stores like GameStop & Best Buy. An LGS/small online retailer might have to sell a product for a slightly percentage higher than MSRP just to break even or make slight profit. That’s not the issue, the issue is this

Ya no one ever said there wasn’t other markets in other regions that don’t set their own 2nd hand market value But I’m specially talking about how in North America the market feels completely made up because what’s stopping sellers from inflating prices on one then under selling on the other?

It’s not blind confidence I’m just speaking from what I’ve noticed in all my years of collecting.

I mean correct me if I’m wrong but most people meaning collectors investors scalpers & the average consumer goes off of TCGPlayer & EBay as a loose guide for card prices on the 2nd hand market Whether they’ve owned it for only a couple years doesn’t negate them being 2 of the largest names for years

Learning that TCGPlayer is owned by EBay really solidifies that the whole secondary card market is actually so artificially created that it’s baffling

At this point call me a licensed Pokemon Card Hunter after the way I’ve prepare myself for the release of Destined Rivals. Odds lookin like 75% chance of getting what I want. Which is up for the previous -0% Ive had before.

Yeah scalpers are like 97% the issue.
But rn my personal hell rn is calling places just to see if they have cards in stock period and I’m not even getting my calls answered AT ALL. I’ve called 3 separate places. 2 of which on two separate days & times. Like the actual fuck are businesses doing??
