Not all heros wear capes, some sift through trashbags for the public good.

Apparently, infighting has started among regime supporters, with IRGC-affiliated channels and individuals already criticising the government for a “lack of transparency” in the agreements with the US and urgently demanding explanations.

The Grand Budapest Cartel - Providence Viktor Orbán has lost reelection as Prime Minister of Hungary—but how did a small central European state rise to such prominence among American right-wing intellectuals to begin with?

The thing that stood out the most is that all over the city people were tearing down FIDESZ campaign posters.

For context: throughout the last 16 years after every election, FIDESZ left its campaign posters hanging everywhere. They were an omnipresent thing.

It’s incredible to witness the will of the people triumph over tyranny.

It's important the Hungarians now arrest every single crooked FIDESZ gangster who profited from the last 16 years of systemic corruption. Not just because it's good for Hungary but because it shows others, especially the Americans, that it can be done.

I think the Hungarian left will make a comeback in the next election. The electoral system was almost tailor-made to keep them out of power. Orban just didn't expect a conservative revolt against him that leftwing and liberal voters would join in an electoral alliance.

“it feels so different having actually been there”

Hey, in writing up my “ride2ukraine” experience from 2024 before I return this June (for the victory).

Can I quote you in my book? Your comment “it feels so different having actually been there” sums up my feelings about Ukraine. 🇺🇦

I keep rewatching these videos, it feels so different having actually been there. I now understand why my dad constantly talks about the days that communism collapsed.

Can't wait for Sam Seeder to explain how praising the Soviet Union and denying the Holodomor will help Americans get public healthcare.

Very good that Peter Magyar's first trip abroad will be to Warsaw. Time to rebuild the Polish-Hungarian friendship, which should have never been so pointlessly sabotaged by Orban, and should always be a pillar of wider European cooperation and friendship.

I posted so many times that you should never take a Taxi in Budapest because Budapest Taxi companies are run by criminal gangs who scam foreigners out of money, and some of you still take a Taxi in Budapest and then complain to me about it. lol

I still almost can't believe that Orban just conceded. I expected him to pull some January 6th type of coup or something. All my friends expected him to do that. And then he just gave up.

A Polish volunteer with the call sign ‘13’ became a machine gunner for the Armed Forces of Ukraine despite having no prior military experience before arriving in Ukraine.

For him, the war has become a place of grueling trials and a search for personal meaning.

I’ve seen sources who’re saying this may have been the regime’s own doing to justify its actions in recent days and weeks.
One X user apparently from Tehrān quite literally said “Do not trust anything that IRIB reports immediately after it has happened.”

The clips coming out of Hungary today are so golden. Peter Magyar goes to see the president, sees that Orban is skulking around on the other balcony and comments "Absolute Cinema"

Dunno who needs to hear it but the Holodomor was very much a genocide perpetrated by Stalin on behalf of the Soviet version of the Russian Empire against the Ukrainian nation. Half the replies seem to think it didn't happen.

Also, every single far-right Austrian politician in the last few decades, who insisted that the true Austrians are those who are the most German Germans to have ever germaned, is always some guy called Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz.

Austria is an identity crisis. It's at the core of the Austrian identity. The reason Austria produced more exceptional artists and novelists than Germany was the permanent need to assert and justify one's existence in the face of such a domineering large neighbour with a shared language.

The rightwing dipshits who post "this is what you get for supporting leftists" at the accounts of jews who are being harassed by leftists, are just as gross as those leftists.

I bet that in a few years the single most racist politician Europe has had in decades will be a Polish black guy.

I wonder if Austria will now get a healthcare crisis? If you've been to a hospital in Austria you will know that a lot of the doctors here are Hungarian who came here because the Orban government treated healthcare workers like shit. I wonder how many of them may go back now.
