A group of school children sit in front of an orange truck which is a plow/sander. They are holding up a hand-drawn sign which I can't read but I think it says THANK YOU

Rant: I hate the Mac OS file explorer and photo gallery with the fire of a thousand burning suns. It's one of the drawbacks of using Procreate to make art - ipad is the only option so I'm stuck with this subpar system for sorting all my collage files. #tinyfreakingicons #grr

A realistic pencil drawing of a robed woman, surrounded by three vultures and one barn owl grabbing a dead mouse with his beak.

The robed woman stares at us intimately, with a few bits of branched and a dark background makes the scene a bit ominous but graceful body positioning makes the scene beautiful as well. The artist (me) really likes this kind of imagery.

Goethe’s Theory of Colors: The 1810 Treatise That Inspired Kandinsky & Early Abstract Painting I doubt I need to list for you the many titles of the 18th century German savant and polymath Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, but allow me to add one or two that were new to me, at least: color theorist (...

what if your ideas are as in love with you as you are with them?

what if your creativity spends its days dreaming about you too?

what if art is a co-creation between you (the vessel) & the eternal source of all things?

what if this act of making is the universe experiencing itself through you?

Hooray for being brave! I had a few illustration classmates who used to swear by pastel & acrylic, but I haven't tried it yet myself. Very inspiring!

The cool tones and the vibrant reds really pair nicely here. I like the strong red vertical marks, too.

I'm posting these all out of order but whatever. I've been on a kick lately, drawing these cellular shapes with little microcosms in them. Just me, scribbling for hours on my tablet with fine point brushes.

It really is a lot like early twitter here, and by early I mean circa 2009 when everything felt fresh and new. I bailed shortly after and fled to tumblr because I liked the growing art community there. Remember folks: don't engage with the trolls. Block early, and often. Curate your experience.

Oh no, this echo chamber I'm stuck in is full of amazing art, generous, kind people, and joy.

What ever shall I do?

Guidelines

Art can be anything. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, textiles, beading, photography. If you think it’s art and it beautifies the timeline then post it.
Use a single image per post.
It’s a good idea to post title, year, medium used & size. People will ask.
If you’re a photographer, details like location & date taken will be appreciated. Feel free to add EXIF data.
PLEASE USE ALT TEXT. Create a spreadsheet with all your post text (title, medium, links. hashtags) and ALT text for each day’s posts to save time
It does not matter if you “posted it last year”. Social media is ephemeral. Post it again.
Art does NOT have to be seasonal. It can be pretty much any subject, but please keep it family friendly.
You don’t need to be a “professional” artist, whatever that means. You don’t need to have sold art, been in a gallery or anything. If you make art at any experience level and want to show it off and make others happy, this is the event. You might be surprised at the feedback.
Art must be original and it must be yours or from a family member… with permission. (except for sharing of course) This is an event for living artists.
No NFTs or AI art please and keep the posts SFW.
Please don’t cross post with links to other platforms ie: post a link to your Facebook post on Bluesky.
Please do not post prices or use BUY NOW kinds of posts. This is not meant to be a sales event. Many artists do sell work. You can post links to your website.
Please share posts and follow participating artists. This is both an exercise to build a following of art lovers and to build a supportive community of fellow artists.
As “organizer” I do my best to share all art during the month but if I miss a post, please don’t take it as an insult or commentary on your work. There are -a lot- of posts and I may miss a few, especially with multiple platforms involved. Note that I won’t share posts that contain prices or buy now content. and I won’t intentionally share images without Alt-Text. This…

I've seen multiple posts from people trying to organize things here that I might be interested in but are using AI imagery and I can tell you that not only will I not sign up, or answer your poll or whatever.

I will block your AI using ass.

Don't use AI. Don't share AI.

Type 1 Fun is is a rockclimbing term for adventures that are fun while you're doing them. I'm not really that outdoorsy nor do I climb rocks, but I do draw things. Sometimes it's a joy, and sometimes it's a struggle. But it's always good to do. #abstractart #art #digitalart #artist

If there are other #abstract artists out there - especially those working digitally - please say hi! My background is illustration, so I am new to this side of the art world, and I'd love to see and learn more. #digitalart #abstractart

There is a river and a waterfall behind my house, and in the summer I spend a lot of time floating in the water looking at all the little fish darting between the rocks. This piece is about sunlight, water, & the changing life in the river. #abstractart #digitalart #expressionism #art #nature

Let's start with one of my favorites from my Tuesday series, which I painted last spring. This was shortly after the solar eclipse at the tail end of the winter thaw, and all the streetlights came on early. It felt like something was emerging. #abstractart #digitalart #procreate #surrealism
