At the BPS conference dinner, held at The Marine Hotel, the Irene Manton Prizes were awarded. The prize for best student oral presentation went to Arianwen Herbert, with Highly Commended to José Ignacio Gayo-Pelaez, and the best student poster presentation prize awarded to Adam Reeve.

Day 4 ending on #phycologyfriday with more sample ID, and lectures on green algae cladophorales, coralline algae and maerl!

Day 3 included great talks on brown algae and red algae by Dr Juliet Brodie, and a trip to the marina to collect a variety of other samples! And ending with a lovely group BBQ!

Day 2 involved sorting through our field samples, a trip out into the sound to look at Kelp forests with an ROV, and lectures on non-natives! (And a little nosey at some mangroves!)

Day 1 was an introduction to seaweeds, pressing seaweeds and a trip to Renney rocks to collect some samples!
