The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!

Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!

All right, I think I've earned myself a treat.

Been looking forward to this one all year. :D~ #booksky

That's what it was made for, isn't it? :D

(Not quite as good as your lasagna, though.)

Today at #chezRat, I used some deep-frozen Bolognese (deep, rich, red as hunger, graciously provided by @footpad.bsky.social) to make lasagna.

I managed to eat about one eighth of it. ^^;

Once again, I am surprised at how hard my brain is struggling with the idea of people not just enduring but enjoying my company, going so far as to actively ask me to meet up.

And then I wonder: When and how did I become so unkind to myself?

I… can't seem to argue with that. ^^;

The latter. Which, I guess, is less of a problem than the former, so there's that. ^^;

A three panel comic. In the top panel a colorful orange crab raises both its claws and says "YOOOO! Mezzanine beetle! What's up my brotha! In the second panel a stag beetle says to himself "this fucking guy, here we go." The third panel features both the stag beetle and the crab. The stag beetle says "sigh. Hey prodigy crab.) the joke here is that the crab is from the cover of an album by the techno band the prodigy, and the stag beetle is from the cover of the album mezzanine by massive attack. And boy, writing this out has me thinking it sounds like Werner Herzog telling a joke.

A while ago, I got into the habit of checking my local stores' website for special offers each week to see if there's anything I can save on or get inspiration from.

Call me weird, but the category I usually get most excited about is fresh fruit and vegetables.

One thing I noticed once again this weekend: I have a hard time dealing with people calling me cute.

I'm above 40, for crying out loud! In rat years, that's almost 2! How can I still be cute? ^^;

"Serves four", said the recipe.

I had about half the bowl.

I am now a very happy rat.

Also, cartoonishly round.

Today at #chezRat, I'm making panzanella once again, and the smell of roasted bread is wafting deliciously through the flat…

…but I still have to wait a while until the salad is done, aaaaa! =>.>=

Your periodic reminder that LLMs are incapable of "understanding" anything and that it is all a function of "self working card trick" of language probabilities; it just generates likely sounding bullshit. Sometimes that likely sounding bullshit is accurate because likely sounding things often are.

Which is to say: There's been lots of stress and difficulty lately, but it's not all bad at least.

For the past couple weeks, I've been making sure to eat more fruit and veg over the day. There's always some fresh veg and/or salad around, and I do have the impression that I've been consuming fewer snacks and sweets.

At least I'm sure I'm closer to regularly getting my five per day than before.

I downloaded myself a TV recording of a symphonic concert with gaming soundtracks and themes. Hitman, Baldur's Gate, Halo, Skyrim, all nice and good and well performed. But then…

How rats conquered Earth Cognitive flexibility, opportunistic survival, and social cooperation have allowed rats to thrive in conditions that wipe out other species.

Thank you @bittelmethis.bsky.social for calling me up to talk about what we can ALL learn from rats.

“One of the things I’ve learned from rats is to thrive where you are and not where you wish you were,” says Brookshire. bigthink.com/science-tech...
