I spent the last week with this extraordinary group of scholars debating about the future of the Liberal Arts and the Humanities. We shared our commitment for what we do and to our students. Immensely grateful to Eckerd College and the amazing faculty that made this possible.
Stills of our ACLA seminar “Reading the Archive of the Unexpected”. An energized exchanged across borders from Chambacú to Santiago de Chile and back to the Colombian Pacific and “El Cartucho”. Ruins and repertoires of reading. Thanks to Yair Cuenú-Mosquera, Daniel Bataller and Martín Ruiz-Mendoza.
Remember this amazing opportunity with the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The deadline is October 7th but is a good idea start the application asap. More info:
#ACLA2025
Excited to be organizing this seminar on reading and the archive at the ACLA Conference. This year the conference is online: May 30th, 31st. We’ll explore reading as a site of struggle, hope, and policy. Join us! #ACLA2025 #LatinAmericanStudies

I have just set up a starter pack for Latin Americanists. Please share it widely so we can develop a larger community of researchers engaged in Latin American Studies from a broad interdisciplinary perspective. Thanks go.bsky.app/UjzLMBx
The initial “Marx, Marxism, Critical Theory, etc.” starter pack is now full, so I have created “Part II,” which is growing rapidly. Please share if you find them helpful and if you think I should add someone or missed you, please reach out. go.bsky.app/5GR8AAt
I started putting together a starter pack on Marx, Marxism, Critical Theory, and more. Please share if you find it useful and respond to this post if you feel like you should be added to the list (or removed for that matter).
