It's nature's way of telling you not to visit the south-central US in the spring/summer. It's been a while but I always had good luck with Atlanta. And at least in Denver you can look at the post-apocalyptic artwork while figuring out what to sacrifice to the horse.

I was having a chat with someone just a couple days ago about decisions being faster than humans can adjust, and how AI would make that worse. Like yes, now [decision] can be made, but the impact can't be seen or predicted fast enough before making another decision. (Let alone psychological impact.)

My resume's been professionally tweaked a few times. I think it's the niche I've been in, plus just nobody has stable work to pay people. Also I've got a medical thing that limits commutes/travel which has killed some deals. One even rescinded an offer when I submitted ADA paperwork. 🙄

Yeah, people legitimately don't know how bad it is. I've been using a training thing as a networking event, and a couple people I've known for a few years sounded happy to help. I never heard from them, of course, but the kicker is that I found last week that both of them got laid off too. :|

Alas, FebROOary went quickly, and due to "work" and some other projects I didn't even get a chance to enjoy it that much. At least there's always Aprool. :P

Instead of having lunch for breakfast, I can suggest that oatmeal is cheap and semi-healthy as long as you burn all the carbs. >.>

I can't in good conscience recommend having a whole day's supply of sodium for breakfast.

Also worth mentioning that 1 USD in 1976 = ~5.70 USD today, not counting the cost of the 30-year mortgage, which at that time would've been about 9%, so barely keeping pace with inflation. Not to defend baby boomers, but let's pick on them for the right reasons. ;-P

I've said this before: A house is "worth" what people are willing to pay, so blame the people willing to overpay for housing. That's why real estate is increasingly seen as a good investment.

At least you can live in a house. I'm still wondering why bitcoin is worth anything.

Yeah, I once asked for "ginger ale" on a plane trip and was shocked to get Canada Dry instead of Vernors. And thus began my foray into the journey of finding the right ginger ale/"beer."

They even sell kits for the stuff in the kangaroo homeland. I keep meaning to try a DIY sometime.
