One thing I do find weird is how fast the format is already. It already feels bad using anything higher than 2 energy cost and games spiral out of control as fast as turn 2.. there isn't much room for growth/ powercreep as card games like to implement.

This seems pretty normal for a starting/base set IF that is what this is. I would expect sets and cards to become more complicated, but that is just speculation.

I'd have to disagree that typing doesn't matter. I ran a dark deck in the PvP event and I easily won 90%+ of my matches vs Psychic/Mewtwo. I used no EX Pokemon. On the flip side I had an abysmal win rate vs fighting.
