Happy National Library Week! This week you should:
1) Donate $ to your local Friends of the Library
2) Write to your public library director to thank them for standing up for diversity or to condemn them for caving to fascists
3) Plan a similar public comment for the next library board mtg

Local zoning is the way! A lot of these are being stopped or stalled by neighborhood organizing.
These warehouses often need to be purchased, permitted, approved for occupancy and specs. Each one of those steps can be interrupted.
Ppl are pressuring corps not to sell, counties to deny permits, etc
Trying to call Senator Josh Hawley's Washington office, which I have many times. I get a message saying service for this number has been discontinued. Was able to leave a voicemail at a local office.
On Easter, I always recall that women were the first to share the news of Jesus' resurrection, but the men "...did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense..."
And it still goes on like that. Women often see things first, but aren't believed.
Same and same.
It's the worst infomercial I've ever seen.
Yeah, I paid a good chunk of change for this, and tonight is the first chance I've had to watch a game, only to find it unavailable unless I pay more money to a different entity. Also, it's my birthday weekend & this was my birthday gift from the spouse. Pretty disappointing for a lifelong fan.
On the phone with customer service, and they can't even tell me how many games I do get to watch this year for what is a significant chunk of change to me. In what has been a super crappy year, this was going to be my silver lining--my thing to look forward to. Way to sour a lifelong fan #MLB.
I know there are bigger things going on. Just want to say how ripped off I feel by @mlb.com #MLB and #KCRoyals. I received many targeted ads to subscribe to #RoyalsTV for $99.99 for the whole season - all games. First game I try to watch, I can't without paying someone else money.
Viva Venezuela! #WorldBaseballClassic
His whole life, Trump has always had someone else around to bail him out of the messes he creates: his father, Allen Weisselberg, the "adults in the room" in his first term. Now all those protectors are gone and he is openly begging for someone to save him from his own folly.
Really? Because I’m just a random American Gen X, and I saw it coming.
Oh, they very nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Oh well, that's baseball.
Here we go. Potential tying run on base. Potential winning run at the plate.
Is the Dominican Republic really going to just hand this game back to Venezuela here in the bottom of the ninth? Not complaining, as I've been Team Venezuela from the start. Just a wild turn of events loading the bases on all walks.
On Today’s Walk: Two New Trails
Starting the first walk After a solid week of gray skies and rain, the sun came out today. My son agreed to explore a new-to-us walking trail in the area. The Philips Lake Trail seems fairly new, and looks as if it was put in as an amenity to nearby businesses and…
I’m not a military expert, but shouldn’t there be a more detailed plan than “drop some bombs and see what happens”
On Today’s Walk: Harmless Mischief and Whimsy
I feel like I can't write anything these days without acknowledging what heavy times we are experiencing. But when things are most bleak is when we most need to look for little joys. Surprise! This morning I began decluttering what is supposed to be…
Weird thing happened on Youtube where it showed me subscribed to Turning Point USA. Quite certain I've never even clicked one of their videos. I could have accidentally clicked something while scrolling. user error possible. Unsubbed, of course. Plan to keep an eye on this.
God bless and protect Representative Al Green.
In Missouri, Republican legislators have been calling police on constituents who come to their offices to speak with staff or deliver letters.
That feeling when you submit a piece to a literary magazine, and they never ever respond to your submission. But you do end up on their general mailing list.

The Last of the Aunts
"Though she be but little she is fierce." Shakespeare, foreshadowing my Aunt Faye. As we age, loss becomes more common, but never familiar. It feels new every time. My parents' generation has been dropping off, one by one, and there are few left. My mother and father each had…
Poem: Monument
After a loooong stretch of bitter cold here, the snow has finally melted. But February still seems like a good time to share this poem I wrote several years ago. Snow spire. Monument A monumentto winter, the jagged snow fort, walls as tallas the eight-year-old who sculpted the…
I really want people to think about this. After all the insane lawsuits, all the threats, all the bullshit weve seen from this admin and the targets who kneeled in fear, an average Joe called the president a Pedophile protector to his face and didn't get touched. That's the Power of a union.
Hubris, thy name is chamber of commerce business owner who speaks at city council and claims to represent not only other business owners but all of his and their employees. Dude, your employees can speak for themselves, and you would probably be surprised what they say off the clock.
Welp, they’re rounding up the journalists, and Catherine O’Hara died. So this year completed its journey to hell.
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.
