Our main story is local, but there's (unfortunately) lots of national news in this week's pod:
- NCAR may be parted out and put under private ownership
- 2 Americans killed by ICE in Minneapolis have Colorado connections. Local peace vigil for latest victim drew ~500

Even families who CAN afford care may be impacted, if centers don't stay open:
"We could see centers closing, um, and very quickly there are some centers where they are getting payments and they need it each week in order to sustain themselves." – Karen Manahan
This could have cascading effects on:

- Providers (who rely on the funding to stay afloat)
and the community as a whole. What happens when people stop working because they can't find or afford care?
"This is 20% of the school's tuition; 25% of our enrollment." A parent and board member of a #Boulder daycare shares how the freezing of federal child care funds families, providers and the community as a whole.

That property is planned for a HUGE redevelopment — something owners have been chasing since 2013, Memsic said. But since it will likely take years to be approved and built, a new group is moving on the space.
