I made it home safely, thinking of my family and my cat, Kama, LOL! It’s an honour to wear my club colours, and we should never be scared to represent our teams. I shouldn't have felt threatened just for existing in a public space.
It was a heated verbal altercation. Others were filming, but I chose to stay calm and step away. A kind passenger warned me the man was following me down the carriage. Two men stepped in to have my back, and I eventually got off at Raynes Park to ensure I wasn't followed.
I felt the weight of the comment. I came out from the toilet and asked him directly: “Why did you say that? Is it because I’m brown or because I’m a Spurs fan?” He immediately squared up to me, shouting “Don’t accuse me of being a racist” and demanding we “step outside.”
Due to my T2 diabetes, I need frequent toilet access. On the train near Wimbledon, I headed to the cubicle. A man in an #AVFC shirt looked at me and said, “Don’t stink out the toilet.” His tone was aggressive, and he had two colleagues with him who stayed silent.
