Doing some lit searches this morning, amazes me how many journals breach GDPR rules.
Delighted to share our JIC guidance for precision-bred plant field trials. Field experiments link controlled research and real-world agricultural performance, and by sharing our insight and methodologies we aim to support compliant trial delivery within the new regulatory framework.
We sequenced the genome of 'desert ginseng' (Cistanche deserticola) - a leafless parasitic plant that gave up photosynthesis - and found it lost huge chunks of its own genome…but started stealing genes from its host!

An overview of bacterial multicellular formations: biofilms, filaments, free-floating aggregates, motile collectives and fruiting bodies. For each form, we mention an analogous eukaryotic multicellular form (respectively animal epitelia, filaments in fungi, Volvox, Dictyostelium/social animals, Dictyostelium and other slime moulds)
How common is multicellularity in bacteria? And archaea?
And how does it evolve?
