honestly I don't think any amount of cleaning would fully rid that poor set of the smoker's curse 😭

oh my god dude
Our recent Retro Roadshow pop-up was a success! 👏
Over 100 guests experienced a detailed presentation on the history of sci-fi and gaming.
They also got quality time with vintage game consoles like the Sony PlayStation 1 and
SEGA Dreamcast – complete with CRT displays to play with power! 🎮

another 2070SB post because I think it looks pretty
i still need the orange one </3
follow me on bsky for high level intellectual content in regards to arcade games
that's only if you ramp up to those levels in the service menu, otherwise it's 160Hz V and 140Hz H
which tbh is fine by me (though if i was running interlaced i'd probably adjust the vertical refresh to be a little higher), I don't need to crank it higher than that haha
i'll open it up eventually and check things out! it sometimes goes away with a smack so it might be a cold solder joint somewhere.

I got a cool little CRT! It's only black and white, but it fits with the space I have currently.
also sorry for the massive inactivity :(
I uhh, got this Panasonic TM-1420BT from Japan! It's neat, but I need to work on it as it flickers in and out of color on S-Video and Composite. And it flickers evil red flashes on those inputs too. That's probably not good.
the dot mask is great though!
I think like, right around the time the community discovered it, once the stock ran out the company didn't bother to make any more which definitely sucks :(
Mitsubishi Diamondtron 2070SB accepting a 4K 16:9 signal thanks to the USB-C to VGA adapter's DAC
1440x1080p at 120Hz
I think it's really disappointing that there was, only for a brief period, a VGA adapter being sold that let you not have to worry about any pixel clock, as it was even able to do 4K through VGA (though it's impractical as it's not able to be resolved by the AG, in this image it's scaled up to 175%)
Got my shiny Deoxys in FRLG under odds (4834 SRs), yay :)
remembered that n64 evangelion game existed and immediately went to see if it was on the list of roms I put on my everdrive lmao
picture of my nintendo switch 2 playing fire red, my first encounter was a shiny Rattata that i named Nugget due to his gold color
my very first encounter after leaving Oak's Lab, feels like a good sign 🥇
when I was really young, I wanted to eat the A and B buttons on my N64 controller because they looked like those round tarts candy
Switch 2 is being displayed here @ 540p instead of 1080i
May have gotten the switch version of FRLG just so I can shiny hunt Deoxys 🤐
Nintendo GameCube connected to Sony PVM CRT TV with Super Mario Sunshine gameplay on screen.
Got the silly Switch 2 GameCube controller working with a GameCube. More on that tomorrow, I guess.
Well after a ton of hours polishing, screen turned out about 70% improved! and i got a remote for the set to access the composite inputs. i’m quite pleased with it! even more pleased to share that it has been given a new lease on life at a local screenplay theaters’ prop department!
oh. that's a new one
Got the N64 out now that my foot is much better. S-Video looks great on this little set. There's an aperture setting in the OSD to adjust sharpness.
I can't wait for my fxpak pro and everdrive 64 x7 to play some fun console-compatible rom hacks (and play games that are too expensive for me atm)
sometimes I remember the Sony eVilla was a thing

FRLG gets rereleased in a week, so here's pictures from half a year ago of leaf green on the gamecube's gameboy player
Today’s find, a lovely 27” Toshiba PV-M2767! Found in the back of a box truck- which was parked at the back of the junkyard.. 350 yards from the entrance. nearly 3 football fields! Anyways, it works great, but the screen is very deeply scratched. Might be fixable? my back hurts…
Here is my Sony CRT monitor, it's a Micron branded CPD-2003GT. It's probably my favorite CRT that I own, I really love these curved Trinitron screens as opposed to the flat ones.
Ah yes the button I always press when I reach for the home button in the dark
