there are probably other games that better fit the "not a fighting game" category, but celeste is the only game i feel a 1-1 comparison because of the "mastery" element, even if its not competitive or multiplayer

just because a movie doesn't take itself seriously doesn't mean it's bad, but even such movies get to be taken seriously as classics, not as filling on a narrative skeleton with a shelf life

a street fighter movie that took the lore seriously and delivered an honest and consistent attempt to bring out a polished side of the source material would be wonderful, even if it was goofy and silly I wouldn't mind, but nothing I've seen thus far has made me expect a "good" movie

its really sad because people treat SF like it's a goofy game with no real story, but its a game that really does have an underlying story with great potential, ultimately gatekept by its arcade format and the writer's impulses to make it different with each generation
