Kafka would be proud.
To add a new Outlook email address to their app, Microsoft insists I add a back-up email address. It sends a code to the back-up but to get it I have to abandon adding the *new* address. When I restart the process to add the new one, it tells me the code now isn’t active.
That’s good going!
This was my fifth time starting the first training session so I was suitably pleased/tired to actually finish it.
Along with many other people, I downloaded the “Couch to 5k” app a few years ago.
I’m pleased to say that this morning, I finally completed for the first time ever the very first training session within the app.
Doing an ACTUAL 5k run remains some way off.
A guy just came up to me & asked if I was Marc Settle.
Me: er…yes (inwardly panicking, no idea who he is)
Him: I’m <name>, we were at secondary school together.
Me: oh wow. Hi! Sorry I didn’t recognise you. 😬
We left school in 1988; maybe the ravages of time haven’t been THAT bad to me.
I am disinterested in the distinction
Why would you code your app such that you present users with options like 1st, 15th and 28th…but when the user tries to do something similar, it returns an error “Please enter a valid day between 1 and 28; must contain numbers only” 🤪
Do as I say, not as I do 🙄
“The times are grim and I (hope/want/expect” was hiding in plain sight.
Adding the last six words made a hell of a difference.
It shows a crab from an email which reads “ no problem delaying it but unfordtutely i’m on annual leave” This suggestion is for my misspelling of unfortunately are undoubtedly, understatedly and underbutler
I’m always grateful for suggestions to correct my spelling mistakes but “underbutler”…?!
Oh no! Sorry to hear Hugh got hacked. Are you going to try to get your X account back?
It’s actually quite a clever app!
One way to save on taxis
Impressive updates to this iOS app which lets you record landscape and portrait at the same time.
If a video recording app insists that actually recording video is a PRO feature behind a subscription, then it’s not being truthful about what counts as a “pro” feature.
And call me a cynic but I’m dubious of its claim that 85,000 people have subscribed when the app has only around 1000 downloads.
I wonder if F365 might also employ writers or subs who know the difference between “half” and “halve”?
Not as such.
But…
• internal recording
• safety track
• 32 bit float
(At a price, naturally)
It depends on the features and audio quality you’re after. If you just want “better than the internal mic” (which is actually pretty good, but not at a distance) then 100s of mics at £20-£30 will be fine. Go to £100 & while the quality will be better, you’ll get many new features…if you need them.
That’s exactly the issue: there are so many at that price point that you’ll *probably* be fine with any of them. Here are a few that are totally fine without being anything special:
None.
Yes, but take away five.
It was NONE!
It’s a pop-up from an app that says “ you’ve reached your free export limit. Get the lifetime pass to export unlimited videos”
Take a guess at how many exports I was able to do before getting this message?
Fair play to this app developer, who puts a very positive quote on an image of her app in her App Store listing…when the quote is in fact from herself, the app developer.
Possibly the same. No idea either!
I can’t remember the last time they emailed me about anything, to be honest
I had no idea they were still going, tbh.
Anyone else still use “If this, then that” or is everything easier & better using Shortcuts?
It’s my daughter’s 8th birthday tomorrow and a nuclear bomb dropping on Iran could put quite the spoiler on things, I’ll be honest with you.
There are numerous apps on the App Store now copying DualShot, the viral app that records landscape & portrait at the same time.
Most are either no good or too expensive (good luck to the developer asking £9pm; DualShot is £10 one-off)
Anyway. I’ve tested a few and here’s a visual of the results.
