Planted apricot & nectarine trees + 2 more bush cherries (total of 6). That's a total of 8 orchard trees - (new trees + plum, 2 apple, 2 peach and fig). Also natives like pawpaw, persimmon, American plum, serviceberry, elderberry and chokecherries.

Just trying to make sure people eat.

All these countries willing to go to war to protect Greenland, but are any willing to do to war to protect Minnesota?

Anyone?

This is a private building. With all of the unmet needs of this city, taxpayers should NOT be paying to fix this sign so the residents can live in their swanky condo without covering their own costs. The rest of us are currently trying to figure out how to pay our ever increasing property taxes.

Has anyone in the #Kansascity area seen #potted #christmastrees for sale in the area? Looking for a small tree that I can decorate for the holiday and plant outside in the spring. Small, local biz preferred. TIA

Call me crazy, but I think the Federal min wage should be high enough so someone working 20 hours a week shouldn't qualify for SNAP. That would be about $20/ hr for a single person. Anything less is literally just corporate welfare.

Shake it off and keep moving. We have a lot of work to do.

Missouri's own attention whore Senator Eric Schmidt is trying to convince the Feds to sic agents on #KansasCity because of crime. Let me remind everyone that Republicans in Jefferson City control our police department and that's why it sucks.

My mystery gourd produced a ton of ornamental gourds. One plant. I didn't plant it. A seed must have been leftover from when I had chickens and people would bring them their leftover pumpkins and gourds after Halloween. #surprise #halloween

If you're in the #kansascity area, don't forget the barter market this weekend.

I traded two houseplants for two big jugs of Tide. Seriously, find your local swap groups.

Getting a real ID in Missouri is practically impossible. They nitpick everything and don't seem to accept half the documents they say they do. I couldn't get a real ID for my elderly dad in Missouri, but mailed the exact same documents rejected by the DMV to get his passport. No issues.

I just found out the Mid-Continent Public Library in Independence, Missouri has a #magazine exchange and a #puzzle exchange. I'm not sure if the other branches do, but what a great idea! I wish I had known about the puzzle exchange when my mom was still alive.

In America, only money matters. So spend your money wisely. Boycott any business bending the knee to fascism and authoritarianism. Save your money and spend it as locally as you can and only what you must.

My local butcher closed their storefront because their rent went way up and all their business was from repeat customers anyway. So now you can call or order online and they'll just deliver it to your house. Plus it's all local. Much better value in every way.

During these perilous times, I want everyone to remember that even the majestic and sure-footed elk can eat shit if not paying attention to the path before him.

I keep thinking about this quote:

"America was waking up, as Germany once did, to the awareness that one-third of our people will kill one-third of our people while one-third of our people watches."

I do most of the shopping for my elderly father and aunt. I think the tariffs are going to really make people compare prices again. There's no brand loyalty when the budget brand coffee is now $6 more than the mid-tier brand on sale and double last year. Compare those prices!

Attempting to transplant a #pawpaw sapling from my woods to my dad's yard. All positive thoughts appreciated.

Found a ton of unused stamps in my dad's house. According to the letter with them my great-aunt wrote to my dad, she was a cashier during WW2 and people would pay for whole orders using stamps.

Fort Osage RV Park Temporary stays, lasting comfort.

The renovations on my dad's park are finally done and we are OPEN! If you're coming to the #kansascity #missouri area and want to stay in a small, peaceful park near the city, but in a small quiet town, we're it.

The orchard is in, but I'm still working on the gardens.

Post your area here and I bet someone local will share.

My local library has a seed sharing program. I bet yours does too and would know how to connect you to someone. Also my state's conservation program has tons of classes and is full of plant people. We love to share. (I don't have a monstera or I'd just send you a cutting.)

Also, you can get grow light bulbs and just put them in a reading light from a thrift store to give a specific plant enough light.

So as a plant person, I suggest you reach out to the plant groups/ seed savers groups in your area. Someone will likely give you a cutting and save you some $$. Also, if you're in an area winter, we're all trying to figure out how to fit all our plants back in the house and giving some away.
