The Frank Lloyd Wright inspiration is more apparent in some of these Hatches artworks than others.
Wright created gorgeous decorative works using simple geometric shapes, overlapped and intersecting, colored with limited palettes.
I hope to channel a similar vibe with these works!

A conceit of the Hatches series is that the rules are so simple, you could draw the art by hand.
You'd need graph paper, a compass, colored pencils, and watercolors for the solid washes.

One of my faves so far.
Shadow Exposures is a companion series to Exposures on MakersPlace.
With MakersPlace closing, I initially created these black and white. sketch-like variants as rewards for collectors there.

It felt right to see if this artwork could help raise funds for people affected by the LA fires.

As I was making these black and white sketch-like variants, the fires were ravaging LA.
Some of these images took on new meanings. People searching for things in a gray world; others finding hope or even dancing among the smoke.
I just released the Shadow Exposures collection on Highlight.
All proceeds go to disaster relief charities in LA.
The artwork's all hand-coded by a person. More details to follow.
