6 Finally our friend N nominated her incredible friend Jamie who, after spending much of his own childhood in hospitals, dedicated his life to setting up wonderful Ward Buddies, a charity that trains volunteers, with expert support, to befriend babies and children and keep them company in hospital

She is getting some therapeutic support from work but the sessions are limited and S has asked if we can contribute to extending these valuable hours of support.

5 S has a friend who is struggling after a difficult Christmas which has brought up a lot of trauma. She is a survivor of childhood abuse who is living with complex PTSD and other challenges, and everything has come to a head in recent weeks.

They also need to purchase three single beds. A donation from us will make a huge difference to their lives and we wish them all the best for the future.

They are trying to work out how to make this new (very welcome) situation work, by creating a divide to make one bedroom into two- but they have limited resources (pension and benefits) and can’t afford the work.

4 C messaged us about M who lost his job as a chef after undergoing cancer treatment, which subsequently left him with additional health issues. He has been living with his 81 year old mum in a two bed council flat, but has very recently won custody of his 9 year old.

but have nothing to make their house a home. A contribution from us will, in the words of their nominator, enable them to start their new life together and to feel settled again.

3 M and her children are being supported by one of our members working with a domestic abuse charity. After fleeing an abusive relationship many months ago they have been living with family miles away. They have now finally been given a council property closer to their support networks,

a costly essential when, according to the charity, so many people are living in unfit, mould-infested temporary accommodation. We were so happy to help.

2 A is fundraising for Food Bank Aid, who will have any donations doubled by sponsors and supporters at the start of March. There is a particular drive to be able to supply, as well as food, nappies, toiletries etc, more cleaning equipment-

1 E got in touch to ask for help for a friend who was buying some decorations for the wake of a young mum; her hope being to create a lovely and fitting celebration of her life for her children to remember. Just a small amount that helped her make this lovely gesture.

5 D was served an eviction notice by his letting agency but the documentation was incorrect and he has endured many months of uncertainty, before successfully finding a new council bungalow.

who has dedicated his life to saving stray and unwanted dogs and finding homes for them, in his own time, and in his own van, driving hundreds of miles. He raises money to fund the travelling involved, and we are happy to support him as he does his work.

4 As many of you know, we are very human-focussed and don’t, as a rule, donate to pet charities or towards vets bills, just because there are a lot of people supporting organisations helping animals out there. But S has asked for a little donation for an amazing sounding man

3 L has nominated a mum from her little girl’s school who turned up at drop off this week with injuries sustained from an assault from an ex-partner who has also financially abused her, taking money from her account when she’s unable to work.
