I'm going to regret saying this but if you are using AI to write anything important, you are intellectually deficient or morally corrupt or inexcusably lazy.

Over on IG I've been posting an AAPI book a day to celebrate AAPI heritage month. They are all kid lit and YA books except for 1 adult book I snuck in there, but it is by a YA author so it still counts. The beautiful thing is I have more books than days to celebrate. I couldn't do this 20 years ago.

CALL NOW: Tell your Republican Representative You Don’t Want To Pay The Price For Their Billionaire Tax Breaks

THIS WEEK: House Republicans are deciding how many families and senior citizens they’ll kick off Medicaid, SNAP, early education, and countless other programs that working families rely on — all to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

Call your representative NOW if you live in a GOP district.

Just learned about HJ Res. 54, which aims to put an end to corporations being treated as people. If you have 5 min, call your rep (#s at reps.fyi or 5calls.org) and ask them to support it. Or send them an email, or use @resist.bot. www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

The fourth part of the statement says, “Dr. Hayden once said that libraries are a “cornerstone of democracy—where information is free and equally available to everyone.” But right now across the U.S., libraries are under threat. We urge our fellow Americans to call your representatives and tell them to support continued federal funding for libraries nationwide. At We Need Diverse Books, we will do our part to carry on Dr. Hayden's legacy by protecting our libraries and the dedicated librarians who staff them.”

Also, it was only because of this drama that I realized he was a supporter of JKR. Which was another crucial reason for my deep disappointment. I will always support the transgender community.

The whole King drama really encapsulates why we should never idolize people. Because they will always disappoint you. After all, they are human. I wish he had listened to marginalized voices and just apologized instead of doubling down. Now an author I loved since I was a child, is no longer a fave.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Let’s be clear. When the President defies the Supreme Court, it is the role of Congress to remove him from office. Full stop.

I hope everyone remains safe and also that people know that a corporate spaceflight of only women astronauts for a company owned by a deeply destructive billionaire who is enabling fascism is just public relations for fascism and has absolutely nothing to do with feminism

NEW: ALA is going to court to stop the President’s attempts to illegally dismantle the Institute of Museum & Library Services.

The President does not have the authority to destroy a federal agency. That's why we're taking action with our co-plaintiff @afscme.bsky.social. #ForOurLibraries (1/3)

I have been saying this when I call my reps to yell at them. Now I can say "As Justice Sotomayor says..."

Call your reps and demand they call for the release of Mahmoud Khalil and all of the other detained students as well as the folks sent to the concentration camp in El Salvador.

I've been screaming inside my head so much I can't think anymore. I hate what's happening to us so much. Even ice cream and donuts can't make me feel any better. The only thing that makes me feel a modicum of happiness is this:

An olive green graphic sharing a brief plot summary for “The House Next Door” by Ellen Oh. The body text reads as follows: “For fans of Not Quite Ghost and Ghost Squad, acclaimed middle grade author Ellen Oh of Spirit Hunters and an APALA Honoree delivers a new spooky novel about young hero Rory and the creepy house next door. Home is where the sinister lives. Rory Parker knows not to step a foot in, on, or around the house next door. He’s seen things creeping in the shadows, has had encounters with spirits, and lost a best friend to the house’s malevolence. But when his new neighbors, Jack and his lovable family, move into the house next door, Rory makes it his duty to protect them at all costs. But the vicious forces lying within the house are plotting something evil, something that puts Jack’s little sister in extreme danger. Soon, Rory understands he’ll need the help of his new friend and some friendly ghosts in order to stand a chance at defeating whatever lurks within its walls for good. But what exactly lives in the house next door, and will Rory and Jack find out in time to save the day, or can its evil never be evicted?”

To kick off the inaugural #WeNeedDiverseBooksDay, WNDB is also committing to donating 10,000 diverse titles across the country in 2025. We believe that diverse books ought to be read and celebrated, especially now as book bans disproportionately target them.

Thank you for all your support!

They're consolidating & hoarding generational wealth & power. That's what these tariffs & tax breaks are all about. All the money & power will remain in their families for generations while the rest of us can't break out of the neverending cycle of debt & poverty. And we simply let them do it to us.

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory.

Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.
